what if a modern town was transported back in time? What time period would work well? There is already a town transported back into the 30 years war so don't use that age. How would the town influence history. The town would be relatively small. Also it doesn't have to be a town. It could be a plane of people crashes into whatever time or something like that.

There's a trilogy along those lines by S.M. Stirling. 1999ish Nantucket is sent back in time thousands of years.

It also has a spin-off series, the Emberverse, which is sort of a "mean while, elsewhere in 1999ish".
