The novel is constructed of extremely short chapters which move back and forth in viewpoint and mainframe.Did you like the structure of the novel or did tou find disorientating? Did the breviety of the chapters make it more readable?
Firstly, I do have to agree with those who raved about this book, that it is incredibly well-written. I love the imagery and history Anthony Doerr has captured.
HOWEVER, perhaps it is just me, but I am finding this to be a bit of a slow read. I'm loving the characters, but I feel like nothing is really happening.
Is anyone else finding this too?
I'm on page 43..hoping the pace will pick up

I'm a little behind, just finished the book. Beautifully written and really enjoyed it. I thought most of it was fast moving because of the short chapters and the switching of perspectives, until I got to the last 50 pages or so. It seemed to slow down and feel like it was missing a chapter or two at the end....
