Melissa wrote: "I've read book 1 and have been reading book 2 on and off. I may join in if time permits."Just a question Melissa, are you struggling with no. 2? I started reading it and I was struggling with it and gave up! That was after loving book 1 so much. Now I have left it so long I have decided to reread book 1 and I'm hoping I'll enjoy book 2 if it's a buddy read. I think I was getting confused with all the characters.
I never got to book 2 after loving book 1...would be interesting to know if it is the book 2 curse lol.
Book 2 has been a bit hard to read for me, Tracey. I loved book 1 as well, but book 2 seems to have slowed down. I may pick it back up soon and see what happens.
So I decided to reread the first three books so I can get up to date in the series after that, brought the first two with me on holiday and I hope to at least finish the first book.
I have just asked for a discussion folder to be set up and will post a link when it has been set up.
The first book is a reread for me too, and I am excited to get into this series this year. I have the ebook all ready to go :)
How do people want to do the discussion? Questions or general discussion? I will find a list of characters later and post it in the discussion folder.
I am good with either way...and if you need any help posting questions let me know. Would you like me to post a list of characters? I have a half day at work today so will have some time.
Oh that would be lovely if you get a chance! I have had a big family day today and am rather tired. Thanks
I started A Game of Thrones today as well.I have broken the book down into groups of chapters (no chapter numbers!) - hope it is easy to follow. Feel free to add your thoughts or any questions you have as you go along. People can then chip in as they read the relevant section. I thought it might be a good way to do it for book 2 as I know I was really struggling to keep up with what was going on when I last attempted book 2. Anyway let's try it for book 1.

I have forgotten how much I enjoyed book 1 and am wondering if book 2 would be better if I kept the momentum going.Would anyone object to reading book 2 in February?
Have a good trip back Lieke. I can leave it until middle of February as well. Gives me a chance to catch up on some other books!
I am 10% into A Clash of Kings and I'm really enjoying it. I don't know why I struggled last time, maybe I just wasn't in the mood.
Good to hear, I think I won't start the book until the end of the month. Haven't read a lot last week so I'm still reading Harry Potter 5 and I have two other books to read this month before I can start A Clash of Kings.
I'm 50% in now. Still enjoying it but reading it slowly so I continue to enjoy it! I have posted up questions for the first 2 quarters of the book if anyone would like to discuss.
