Need Help With Title of Stephen King Story

I am trying to recall the name of a Stephen King short story (at least, I'm pretty sure it's a short story). In it, the laws of physics have gone crazy; gravity smashes things flat, etc. The image I remember most strongly is that a parent has to don a spacesuit to enter the son's bedroom because, when the event occurred, all air was sucked out of his bedroom, leaving his preserved body behind.

Does anyone recognize this story?

It sounds like a McCammon story from the Collection Blue World. I don't remember a space suit, but the rest is as you described. Let me get the title.

It's a Robert McCammon story, actually.

In Blue World, the story is called "Something Passed By"

Sounds like your memory blended McCammon with King's The Jaunt.

This is the story: Something Passed By and it is in the Blue World collection, by Robert McCammon.
It's not a space suit, but she does don an oxygen tank and mask before she goes into her son's room. The story is also jam packed with references to other horror authors. :)
