Reflecting on the part of your journey you share in Your book, are there prayers you prayed that you can now look back on with gratitude that they were not answered the way you thought wanted? If so, would you mind giving an example?
That's a hard one. I really wanted God to just heal my daughter, and if I had the choice I'd probably still ask for that. But I am thankful for the journey he took us on because we all grew from it. My Katie wouldn't be the same person without the time she has spent at St. Jude. My other children wouldn't be as compassionate to others with special needs, and I wouldn't be the me I am today. So while I probably would still ask that it be taken from us I am grateful for the journey (on this side of it).

The hard part was to be honest with myself and to admit my mistakes and then share them with the world. Authenticity is very important to me but removing all the masks and sharing some of my more vulnerable moments in print was scary. In the end it was well worth it and I pray that it ministers to others who find themselves in the same place.
