Julie Arduini (juliearduini) | 56 comments The snow globe is a tip of the hat to the mispronunciation of Speculator. Many call it Spectacular, so I loved the thought of Ben being the mastermind of giving her the globe.

Julie Arduini (juliearduini) | 56 comments Howard is a favorite character, but when I was writing it, I had no idea how beloved he'd be. I was struggling to write the ending in a way that would tie up the loose ends and pave the way for Carla's story, something I felt God was setting up. I was praying through a bunch of what if plot questions and God dropped everything in my lap. The ending gave Jenna a happy ending, solved the financial issues for the senior center, and opened the door for Carla to tell her story. Look for it in Entangled, coming soon!

BTW, I kept wanting to read Spectator instead of Speculator. My brain does funny things sometimes.
Question: How dark a dark moment do you allow your characters to have? Do you ever write a very low or dark moment for a character and then change your mind?

That's a good question. I didn't in Entrusted, but in Entangled, I did. That's Carla's story and it's not only about her moving forward into cosmetology, but how much of a mess she makes when she can't accept God's grace and favor after a teenaged mistake. I wrote it out a few ways, and some were quite dark. I think what I ended with as far as that dark moment was darker than Entrusted.

I hope that makes sense!
