Your group's title should certainly draw in almost all authors who see it! Even if you are in the UK, and this "U.S." book technically falls in the non-fiction or memoir genre (not on your list yet, apparently), it is really about universal human values and accordingly also deals at some length with religion (as contrasted to morality) The group should check out "WE'RE CRAZY!, A Memoir about U.S. Values" here on Goodreads, to discover enough discussion material for at least a year. It is a guidebook for our children and grandchildren, to make sure they understand the mess the seniors are leaving them. Getting back on track is going to require clearer thinking about values than their parents have had.

After a list of many of the questions that the book addresses in depth, the summary is, "Why compare your own answers with those in the book? Because the future of our nation depends on our values about these very subjects."

You can link to a longer description of "WE'RE CRAZY!" by putting that title in the block at the top of this page, and then clicking on the title block that comes up. This description directs readers to reading samples and to an extensive bibliography that is an education in itself. This is the book for those who want to think about where we are headed and what is important.
