When do you think Jack should have confessed to Talia about his ongoing connections to her life (getting her the job at Suzette's, etc.)?

I don't know. What woman would want to know she got a job from his influence and financial investments?

My thinking was...

He wanted a committed relationship with this woman. How in the world was he ever going to have that without letting her know before she deepened her trust and feelings for him? He should have just come right out and taken his lumps early on. When she found out, it was a terrible setback for both of them.

Yes, in her shoes, I'd have wanted the truth as early as possible. Makes trusting easier.

The sooner, the better is always a good idea.

I suppose the author had to come up with a reason for them to be apart and for Jack not to go looking for Talia too soon.
