Yes, I was. The idea that two people could be actively pursuing harm to Talia was really scary.

That was a really good twist in the story! Didn't see that coming.

It was an interesting twist. However, I felt that the whole extra subplot added unnecessary complexity to the plot. Instead of dividing the attention, Alden would have been better served having one more simple yet better developed plot rather than the more convoluted twist that really didn't go anywhere...

I guess it was her idea of a red herring.

The subplot was a distraction that just confused me in figuring out the who, what and when.
