How to play:

1. There are 12 pie slices (“Colours”) to be collected to complete your pie (“Round”).

2. For Round 4: under each Colour, there will be a list of 6 Tasks.

3. Roll 2 dice to determine the Colour and roll once more, of 1 die, to determine the Task you are to read by (1=a, 2=b... 6=f)

Example:
Rolled 9 ---> 9. Brown: Cranium – Word Worm

Rolled 5 ---> e. Character: Read a book where main character works in a library OR a bookstore.

4. If you have any questions in regards to particular tasks, please ask them in the Categories thread. If you need help to look for a book that fits in the categories, go to Categories thread and check out the list OR ask for help here, if nothing on list.

5. You may claim a Colour when you finished reading the book, as per your die rolls.

6. If you've rolled same number for a Colour you've already got, you still have to read for it again prior to moving on.

Just as in the boardgame you still have to do the activity / answer the question correctly to move forward

7. BUT you can ONLY claim a Colour ONCE.

Your complete pie of 12 slices will have to be made up of all 12 different Colours.

8. As we are using 2 dice, we cannot roll a "1" so "1" will be the LAST Colour to be read / claimed AFTER you have read / claimed Colours #2-12.

You will still need to roll 1 die to determine which Shelf to read from for Colour #1

9. There will be limited planning allowed: you may roll / plan up to 6 tasks ONLY

10. There is NO page limitation for Round 4

11. You may play Rounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 concurrently BUT books may not crossover between Rounds (ie. whatever you're reading for Round 1 (Shelves) cannot be claimed for Round 2 (Easy Tasks) too, etc

Lahni | 660 comments The no page limit means children's books may be used for some of the tasks, correct?

I don't actually have an ending date for Readers Pursuit. I guess it 'ends' when someone finishes all 4 rounds. Even then, I believe, many others will continue on to finish on their own (as I will) & I'll continue to update the pie as long as needed :)

Bookopoly is actually to replace POTS which will continue through the year (2016) at 'your-own-pace' so there will be another challenge that is our annual challenge for 2016 ;)

Yep, I imagine I will be working on this one throughout most of 2016. LOL

That's what I said about Scattershelves (I think I had 12 or so left at the end of 2014 and I've still got about 8 to go, ha ha ha)

Tien, I have 30 books left on Scattershelves. I must admit that many of them just never found their way onto other challenges so they have lingered. All are now on Bookopoly shelf so maybe they will move faster. Perhaps I can incorporate some into Pursuit too for future rolls.

Bea, you are one very persistent woman -I've no doubt, you'll complete them one day.

More like OCD, I fear. LOL. I do like to complete what I start.

I am proud of the fact that I have completed three years of LOST and have only 3 books to go for 2014.

Ok! Sounds good to me.

Lahni | 660 comments What??? I thought bookopoly was the big game for next year! I was so excited that it seemed so doable since I always fail miserably at completing these challenges! I should have known Tien and the mods would have more up their sleeves.

OK... Since I will not be able to complete this 2014 game this year...and still have one whole round to go...and seem to be rolling lots of duplicates, I have chosen to roll out Round 4. Currently I have only 4 slices left to complete.

My pre-rolls for those 4 slices will have me reading 68 more books for a total for this whole game (4 rounds) of reading 247 books with rounds 3 & 4 being 93 books each!

Yikes! I'd say discard those pre-rolls, you'd probably have better luck ;p

Good luck, Bea, I'd have given up at this stage lol
