Plot.
Once, the Ivory Mark was inhabited by the rich and the servers. Perfect silverware, perfect spotless glass, perfect and pleasant conversations with threats hidden in them. Black and white mysteries solved quickly enough, only by those who were rich and British. The Ivory Mark was a place of the past.Info.
Now, orphans inhabit the old manor, and the orphanage leader, a distant woman, is rarely ever seen. People wish without realizing what the dangers hold, and the orphans are trapped inside the manor by the mysterious force. Some call it the Illness. The worst part is: your wishes come true. Once you make a wish, it twists on you, changing into something different and dark. Sometimes, these wishes can change you into a mutant, someone who now has super powers.
The orphanage is surrounded on all sides by a barrier, made out of the same mysterious force that grants wishes. It keeps the people inside trapped, forever stuck.
THE ORPHANS: These are people who were actually sent to the orphanage because of dead parents or families unable to care for them, etc.
THE WANDERERS: These are people who just got trapped here. Maybe they went exploring and found the Ivorymark, or perhaps they just fell in, but they aren't really orphans.
THE HEADMISTRESS: Wished that she was more like her friend, Della, who was always quiet. Became silent. She wished this after she was shamed by her parents and sent to the orphanage. When she heard about the Illness, she felt horrible because she had taken Della with her and they were both now trapped there. She wished she were more like Della, kind and considerate, and wonderful.
DELLA: Came to the orphanage with the headmistress. Wished people would stop paying so much attention to her, because she didn't like attention. Turned invisible. Lives in an abandoned garden shack. Steals food from the kitchens.
