Aria Amity. Such a fitting name for a girl who would grew too big for her own boots. She started out as such a spoilt little prima donna, travelling around the world to perform for kings and queens and princes and princesses. But it was all too much, and withdrawn, shy Aria started lashing out. Soon afterwards, she ran away and found the orphanage. Little did she know that it would be worse than any other stage.

She wouldn't let her parents use her like a songbird anymore. I wish people would stop forcing me to sing for them. Aria can't sing when there's an audience around anymore. It's perfectly fine when she's alone in the shower, but if someone is around to hear it, her voice dies down.

o ᴋᴀʏ, it's impossible to live here for more than a year and not think you're going insane, no matter how levelheaded you were before you happened upon this place. it changes you, making you paranoid and afraid. some try to fight it, while others sit back and let it take them over. drew's one of the ones who fights it, and she's almost exactly the same as her old self, save for a little more paranoia. she's a very introverted person despite her best efforts to be friendly, and although she spends most of her time cleaning, as she is the head maid, she reads books whenever she can, usually ones that she finds in old bedrooms in the building.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
At first when she first came to Ivory Mark, it was much better than what she had grown up in: a whole estate practically all to herself, and so she wished to never have to leave this place. She had no idea how foolish that would be, as she had no idea of the terrors the house presented.┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ᴛʜᴇ ᴄɪᴛʏ's ᴏᴜʀs ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ fall┈┈┈┈┈┈┈

"i wish i could know everything"
L'Aspect
Her blonde hair is curly, falling to the middle of her back, though she often like to braid it. She has pale green eyes, the captivating sort, merely because of their odd color. Her skin is very pale. She stands at five feet four inches tall, and would like to be taller
Histoire
There is a distinct difference between what Annabelle remembers of her history versus what actually happened. Her parents abandoned Annabelle and her elder brother Ryan at the orphanage five years ago, but, she doesn't remember it any more. See, Ryan's fateful wish was that Annabelle wouldn't have to deal with being left, thus, she doesn't remember the event at all. She sometimes wonders how she and Ryan ended up here, but knows better than to ask.
Annabelle's own wish came about because of her desire for knowledge. She wanted to know everything, and anything there was to know. This is what she wished; "I wish I could know everything." She got her wish, but it went awry. Annabelle knows everything — about people. She knows everything about every one of those also held captive, before they have a chance to tell her.
These last five years have been tedious for Annabelle. Since the making of her wish, she has kept herself solitary, talking to no one, seeking out no company except that of her brother.

"i wish i had my brother back..."
L'Aspect
His hair is very curly, growing out to the bottom of his neck. He has slightly olive-pigmented skin, due to his Greek heritage. His wide eyes are a deep, dark brown. He stands at five feet ten inches tall, and is a perfectly average weight.
Histoire
Orpheus, or Night as he prefers to be called (based upon both the meaning of his name and his penchant for darkness), had a perfectly ordinary childhood. His family was middle class, he did all right in school, he got along as well as can be expected with his brothers. He and his twin, Prometheus, came to the Ivorymark after hearing fantastical stories about it and becoming a little obsessed. For their last two years of high school, they saved their money to visit.
The brothers flew out to the island as soon as they were able, both very excited. On the flight and the drive to the grounds, they discussed their plans. But it seemed they didn't quite understand the perils of the Ivorymark. Both found themselves trapped behind the barrier. In a fit of rage, Prometheus wished he could leave. That...didn't go well for him. Night tried to subdue his brother, who was mad with his desire to leave, but did not succeed. In the end, Prometheus got his wish. He killed himself by running into the barrier at such a speed that he died instantly.
Night didn't know what to do without his twin. They were closer than close, always by each other's sides. It was a mere day before Night made his own wish: to have his brother back. Night knew better, having seen what wishing in this place had done to his twin, but he didn't care. He knew that the wish had to come true somehow, and it did. His brother is now always with him, as a voice in his head. It makes Night look crazy, but in a way, he is content.

"i wish people trusted me..."
L'Aspect
This young woman is very attractive, having shoulder-length red-gold curls and eyes a shade somewhere between blue and gray. She is not tall, standing at five feet six inches, but she is of good height. She has a smattering of freckles on her arms.
Histoire
Andra always wanted an escape. Her family was controlling — emotionally abusive, in fact — hardly letting her think for herself. She was glad when they died. She felt no sadness at all; really she didn't. And no regret, either. Not to say that Andra killed them, of course she didn't. She was suspected. But she didn't kill them. She was sent to the orphanage in the Ivorymark soon after their deaths.
Andra didn't have strong feelings about the orphanage, besides the fact that she was glad to be somewhere where people didn't look at her and whisper behind their hands. Some, however, had heard of what had happened, and she could see clearly the looks they gave her. So she made her wish: to be trusted. It came true, everyone began to trust her, but at a price. They trusted her with everything. Andra became the one people would go to when they had a problem because, as they would say, "we trust you, Andra!" It made her sick.
It has been two- no, three years since Andra came to the orphanage. She pushes everyone out when she can, not willing to give them any reason to talk to her. She spends her time reading books and trying to discover what's happening to the food that goes missing from the kitchen.

"i wish i wasnt depressed"
L'Aspect
Kee has shoulder-length black hair that’s sort of wavy, depending on the day. His eyes are a hazel color. He isn’t the tallest of boys, only being five feet nine inches, but he’s not a bad height for his age. Weight-wise, he’s very average. His skin is pretty pale, but could tan easily if he would let it.
Histoire
Kee was born the second child, and the only boy. His family lived in the “country”, of Irish and Italian heritage, and Kee’s name - Keelan Rosario - reflected that. Kee was a happy boy, always smiling and playing with his sister. “Was” is the keyword to note here. Though the family had little money, the children didn’t want for anything. However, not all would be so happy for long. When Kee was six, he and his then-eight-year-old sister Aisling were at a playdate when their parents got into an accident picking them up. The two kids had no aunts or uncles on either side, and no other living relatives to take them in, os they were passed to an orphanage.
From the very start, Kee was known as a troublemaker at the orphanage. He changed drastically after his parents’ death, becoming angry and sullen, and would often lash out. No one wanted to deal with him, and even less people wanted to consider him for adoption. After almost a year, the first orphanage gave up on him and passed him to the one in the next town over in hopes that they would know what to do with him. They separated him from his sister, who was the “model child”. This continued for years: Kee would be sent to an orphanage, be branded a troublemaker, be passed on to the next one. Over time, he became depressed, feeling that no one wanted him around or cared for him. It was about six months ago that Kee was sent to the Ivorymark orphanage.
Kee knew this place was different from the moment he stepped over the barrier. He turned, expecting to to be able to get back out, but no such luck. He was stuck. The thought horrified him. He had no other choice, however, than to stay. He settled in well enough, in the end most things were the same as the previous orphanages he’d been in. He didn’t discover how truly sinister the place could be until a week or so into his stay. His depression was very bad at that point, and he wished that it was gone. He wished to not be depressed any longer. Of course, whatever magic that surrounds the Ivorymark granted him more than just a release from depression. Kee can no longer be sad at all. Angry, yes, disappointed, yes, but sad? Truly sad? No.

"I wish that I had a sister so I won't have to be alone anymore."
She ended up getting exactly what she wanted but this sister is very close to her and very protective of her.
|History|
She was sent to the orphanage when she was born because her parents didn't want to raise her after her older sister died in a car accident. They felt like if they weren't rushing for grandma to hurry up so the sister could meet her older sister that they would still be a whole family. When she turned 5 she blew out her birthday candles and wished that she could have an older sister.

Alexandrina suffered her entire life from a mild disorder, that is, until coming here. It mainly effects her emotional reactions, making her much easier to anger or offend, a sore loser, and easily frustrated. She was, however, described by many as quite intelligent despite this.

Antisocial. Books and music are friends. The piano is not. She may have wished to be 'normal' but it did not bring on a social life or friends or any kind of acceptance. She also found she lost some of the positive aspects of the disorder, such as her observation skills and even a bit of her general intelligence. Upon arrival, she wished to be her old self again and now she will have to learn to be satisfied with her brain the way it is.

┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ history ┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉
The loss of her parents at the age of ten has greatly affected the manifestation of what should be a minor and unimportant small setback for Sandra, as did the onset of her teenage years, with it the stress, hormones and angst.
Sandra was born in southwestern Russia to a journalist and a recently retired ice skater from South Korea. On a trip to Tajikistan to cover a particular outbreak of tuberculosis, her parents both died, the antibiotic-resistant strain incurable, especially by doctors in a third-world country. All this time, only child Alexandrina was in the care of a nanny who informed her of the news as soon as it reached her. Despite her love for the child, Tetka Mila realized she would not be able to support Sandra permanently on her meager pension and sent the girl to the orphanage.
Alexandrina has since picked up several languages almost fluently, and is losing her accent

If there was to be one word to describe Minnie, it would be happy. She is always cheerful, no matter what. However, there are some moments when she loses this demeanor, but only for a couple moments.

When Minnie was four years old, her parents died and left her completely alone. She went from orphanage to orphanage, all of which she despised. The only light in her time of darkness was May. May was four years younger than Minnie, and small for her age. She met her when she was ten years old. Since then, no matter what, they stayed together. Shortly after they came to Ivorymark, May caught a deadly disease. However, one of Minnie's friends had warned her of the dangers of making a wish, so she didn't save May with hers. When May died, Minnie was stricken with grief. To get out of the world of guilt and pain she lived in, she made her wish, to be happy. Now, Minnie has been cursed with happiness.

( shapeshifting and wing mutation )( personality )─ all work and no play makes jack a dull boy
[ a ] l i c i a was always intrigued by the place they called the 'Ivorymark'. As a scientist, she wanted to know how it worked. As a naïve teen, she wanted to make a wish. So to sum her up quickly, she's analytical but childish. Alicia has an above-average IQ, but she's never really gotten past the age of fourteen, not that it has anything to do with her wish. The main reason for Alicia's immaturity is her love of books - she's still lost in Wonderland and Narnia. But if you give her a crime to solve, a mystery to elucidate on or a mathematical question to solve, odds are she'll get it first go. Because while she may have loved fantasy when she was younger, Alicia also adored her father's Sherlock Holmes books. And she read them so many times that it's stuck with her, aiding her in solving mysteries.( history )─ there's a hole in my bucket
( emeraude toubia ) ─ ( 6'3 ─ 52 kg )
black hair, black eyes, coffee-coloured skin. slim body, sharp nails, pendant at her neck. white lab coat, high-heeled black boots, dark brown feathered wings draped down behind.
[ a ] l i c i a was born Alicia Nicola Warren, but came to use the pseudonym Alicia Daria Sparl because it sounded ridiculous. This was all an elaborate ploy on her part to convince people that she was funny. She failed, and soon returned to her books. But the name stuck, and once she found herself trapped inside the Ivorymark Alicia found herself using it more and more. Now it's all she goes by, and the old Alicia, the Warren one, is long dead.
[ w ] h e n Alicia was a little girl, she was brought up by her father, who was a scientist. He believed strongly in logic, and found it distasteful that Alicia's only reading material was fantasy and mystery novels, with little basis in facts. He tried to force her into reading encyclopedias, but the closest he could get was A Short History of Nearly Everything, which he only convinced her to read by the presence of the word 'short' in the title.
[ s ] h e grew up with her head in the clouds, which she firmly believed was due to her height rather than her love of fiction. Alicia did very well at school, regularly attaining A's, and was found to have an IQ of 145.
[ w ] h e n Alicia was seventeen, she stumbled across the Ivorymark. She was on a trip with her dad, looking for things to study in their lab, when she saw the Ivorymark. Wanting to investigate, she ran closer, only to find herself trapped. It was then that she made her wish. "I wish that I could fly," she cried out, and all of a sudden a pair of huge wings sprouted from her back. Over time, she's learned to fold them away carefully. She also developed the power to shapeshift, but it is very weak, and so she generally only uses it when her wings are getting too heavy and hard to move with. Except she has very little control over it, so mostly the shapeshifting doesn't work. And the wings are large, heavy and get in her way. The only upside is that she can fly.
