...and she temporarily lost her sanity as well

In other fiction: Theon Greyjoy (anyone who has read/watched game of thrones would probably agree with me)
And the maze runner: Teresa - because she is a bitch!
Annie Cresta. Losing Finnick in the final book, who is one of the few people who understand her after what she went through in her games, as well as her mental state after, not including Katniss and the other surviving victors. She loses him when they are finally back together and starting a family.

Or a perverse since of entertainment if you are from the Capitol.

Yes she didn't really like Peeta.. She just REALly loves him.
“You love me. Real or not real?"
I tell him, "Real.”
Anyways, I wouldn't want to be Peeta. I don't want to have a somewhat abusive parent(both verbally and physically), be reaped, or to kill people, or to lose any of my limbs, or to have all of my family killed, even probably some of my friends, be tortured and have my brain picked apart and be turned into something that I'm not and somehow be expected to put myself back together.

Yes she didn't really like Peeta.. She just REALly loves him.
“Yo..."
What???? He loses a limb? Maybe I accidentaly skipped that part. I still think Katniss was the most unfortunate, because she has so much internal conflict. She wanted to hang herself for ****'s sake!

Yes she didn't really like Peeta.. She just ..."
Yes he did. He loses his left leg in the first book. It's not really about who's the most unfortunate because pretty much all of them are unfortunate. I don't even want to be Gale because I don't think I'll be able to handle the guilt. But I guess there's just something about people forcing you to your worst, taking away your freedom of self, and the raping of mind and memories that really makes me hate Peeta's fate the most. (Although he healed but that's him... add to that his other miseries... personally I won't be able to handle it)
I guess being in the games really messed up all of them. Haymitch is probably slowly trying to kill himself with alcohol, Peeta even asked Katniss to kill him etc. etc.

I actually felt that Gale lost Katniss to the games in general. Cause he actually foresaw them getting together and living on in district 12 and having their own family. But Katniss totally was not emotionally feeling NONE of that with anybody before the games. And then once she was thrust into the games and got the pressure on her. It eventually got her to be open enough to have feelings for Peeta.
But not only that, but the games just made Katniss change her stance on not EVER wanting to fight back against the Capitol. To only fighting for those she cared about. Vs. Gale who just wanted to strike back against the Capitol cause he was tired of feeling so oppressed. And therein that put them on opposite sides of why they were fighting and totally and completely destroyed their friendship. Along with the whole bomb thing with Prim.

Ok, you're right, it was a fact I totally forgotten and assumed the medicine did save it when remembering what happened.

Not always, I've read stories where I wished the author had chosen someone else to tell the story, lol. But yea Katniss you couldn't help feeling for her. Almost like reading a story about someone from the projects that gets thrown into something even worse.

he lost the love of his life in the games then his family is killed by snow and then he starts drinking because he is having to send all these kids to their deaths that he would like to live.
effie
she has to go through the pain of picking the kids that are going to die and she is sad because of that
ceaser
he has to interveiw all the kids that are going to die and i think that makes him depressed. he is having to make sure that he does not show that he is sad. he has to interveiw peeta when he is being tortured and not be sad about that. i also think that he is being tortured if he says something wrong. he is constintly being reminded that he was one of the people that sent those kids to die.

And then she moved away from her other living daughter.

Haymitch was sad too, he lost everyone he loved and just started to throw away his life by drinking.

In the movie that's what happened, but in the book it said that they still had to give him a new leg even with the medicine.

Johanna, I feel for you!

1) Johanna Mason: She literally said in Catching Fire, she lost who she loved
2) Cinna: He loved Katniss & understood her. He was Katniss's friend from the Capitol
3) Alma Coin: She was, in my opinion, evil/rude because she lost her husband and daughter/son
4) Haymitch: Imagine losing your brother, your mother, and YOUR GIRLFRIEND! Yea, that happened to Haymitch
5) Annie Cresta: She lost her husband mid-pregnancy. I (STRONGLY) believe though that Mrs. Everdeen brought Annie's son to exisitence. Annie was crazy after she witnessed the beheading of her district partner. She lost family. And friends.
And...........................................
6) Wiress: She was crazy, yea go figure, but she also was crazy smart! I loved Wiress in the book/film. Amanda Plummer did wonderful! And I would fall to my death so I could be with her

oh and lets take out President Snow because he's a too obvious choice. Obviously.
