Max is about three months old:

We're closing sign-ups for reserves only on Wednesday (Nov 4th).

Sign-ups after that date will be on the reserve list and wait for open spots or need for a replacement.

I just received an autographed copy of Curtsies & Conspiracies (Finishing School, #2) by Gail Carriger . I entered a drawing on the author's website and won. :-)

Sure, but non-jumpy claps are for a slightly lower level of excitement. ;-)

From what I know after reading the last couple of The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne i don't think there is anyone above Odin.

Yeah Yeah... Greek was there for grabs, and if I recall you were the first to choose :P

All extra points were well earned!

Hum... guess I need to read more than fictional accounting of the mythos. Darn it all!!!

Depending on how long that challenge goes I will be adding Staked to my late January reading list.

I know. But Greeks are sooo boring. They don't have prankster (unless you count Pan). They can't decide if they are going to be Greek or Roman (yeah, PJ has so much influence in this thought :P). And you know almost everything about them (ok, we did have greek/roman mythology in school (not that I remember anything)).
And Norse are so exotic *sigh*

Just reread Iron Druid Chronicles. It also has Celtic, Greek and Native American gods. And I think one shorty mentions Egypt (Bast). See almost everyone is covered :)

There is couple of members that plan to read Illiad during challenge, if you want to join them. - here

Or just watch movie Troy. It's shorter :P

Cool! His humor makes those books very enjoyable.
One of my favorite thing from a book I think almost ever comes from Hammered. I quoted it in my review of the book.

Yes he covers a lot of ground. I have read a few others that get into more than one mythos, but at the moment it is escaping me what series.

message 684: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments Well thank you *Tea* for ruining my reading plan for the beginning of the competition lol. Looks like I will be reading The Illiad after all.

Seems like there are so many books I want to read and so little time to do so.

message 685: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments I've listened to them so that's why I might have problem with Granuaile.

You know, I'm actually tempted to reread them. I remember that few first book had me laughing so hard that family thought I'm nuts (well they think that anyway when they see me with book, but this was just extra proof :P)

Only one I've read are PJ, and Atticus. I don't think Dresden would count.
If you remember, let me know.

message 690: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments You have the Runes trilogy, although is a bit YA stalkish dark stranger-girl swooned-love triangleish for my taste. But the mythos behind is cool.

I have The Blackwell Pages series on my TBR for ages now, first book is Loki's Wolves. We have Mythos academy from Jennifer Estep, first book Touch of Frost

I can be here forever, but I have team assignments to send, I'll be back

Yeah! Jim Butcher gets into that some also. I was also thinking of the Walker Papers by C.E. Murphy, she does a lot of stuff with the US native mythos, and gets into some Irish, but I haven't read #9 yet so don't know were it leads. Patricia Briggs gets into a little about Coyote with Mercy, and um.....

As Sonia says I could be here all day if I keep thinking about it.

Where do you think the Native American Gods idea came from? Yey Mercy.

Oh, we also have the Stormwalker series, Stormwalker (not my favorite, but I only read book #1), and the Shadowchasers series, Shadow Blade (really need to read this one)

Love this, some I have read, but not all, so you have given me some new to add to my already very large TBR shelf.
:-)

message 696: by Karsyn (last edited Nov 05, 2015 12:06PM) (new)

Karsyn (imzadi) Bringing up dogs again, anyone good at identifying breeds? Had a puppy outside whining/barking this morning for a few hours. Didn't see it at first. Finally it was loud once, and I saw it at the office next door. It came RIGHT to me, and since 11:30am hasn't left my side, except once to eat. My pitbull and my Hubby aren't too pleased, but I couldn't let him run around out there. He has no collar, but appears to be healthy, clean and well fed.

I can't get a clear photo of him (he's active when he's not sleeping) and I have a crappy 8 year old camera phone. This photo I found online is the closest to what he looks like, only he has more black, going pretty much all the way around to his belly. He's much smaller too, I'm guessing 10ish weeks.

Anyone know what he could be? A friend thinks probably some kind of Hound breed mix. Anyone know if hounds chatter? He makes all kinds of noises, beyond a simple bark/whine.

But, mutts are often the best dogs.

Good traits from different breeds.
