Personaly I think it was the most slow paced book of the series and a lot of the stuff were not really necessary. The deaths were sad and all but not really my biggest issues with this book
I didn't like Mockingjay nearly as well as I liked Hunger Games. I felt a real sense of danger for Katniss in HG that just didn't come across in the later books.
I thought it was very sad. Mockingjay was more about the revolution but didn't really have anything to do with the actual Hunger Games.
It was very interesting. How often do you have a female character who goes through healing? Katniss has a hard time trying to keep her sanity. Books about healing are important. No one can go through something like the Hunger Games without some damage. I also liked her internal struggles although some of the monologues felt a bit long.
I enjoyed Mockingjay. It's probably my favorite of the trilogy, if only because there's finally some resolution. I do wish we could have been given a little more detail about Gale at the end though. The sentence or two about him almost felt like an afterthought.
I know a lot of people found the 3rd book to be a disappointment, but not me. I was worried I wouldn't like it that much because I knew it had more guns/explosions than the others and I was afraid it would take over the plot. But no, it was amazing. I was not disappointed at all. When I was in the middle of reading it I literally could not think about anything else, I was blergh all through the school day just waiting until I could read it again. Also, I cried like every time Peeta opened his mouth.
And the ending was absolutely perfect.
This was my least favorite of the series. It wasn't a bad book, but I liked the other two better. Yes, the deaths mad me sad, but I couldn't control that. I'd say the last few pages of a "happy ending" were beautiful. Personally, I think it was pretty slow paced, almost too slow for my liking, but overall, not a bad book. Although it made me sad, I enjoyed it.
Honestly, I felt the entire book series was okay and nothing spectacular. However, Mockingjay, in my opinion, was the worst. The ending felt rushed to me, most of the book was Katniss not doing much at all and being selfish throughout and on top of everything, it felt like Collins did us an injustice. Killing the characters she did in the way that she did felt unnecessary -- like as if it was done purely for shock factor.
I knew prim died when she did because i had been spoiled about it before i got to it in the book, but i agree it was really confusing

I agree with you, London617. Good observation. Saving Prim would be pointless if the games continued

When I read mockingjay i loved it i dont know y some people think it was crammed in 300 pages cause I loved it and found not a single flaw
It isn't my favourite out of all of the books, but it did it's job. I like how they left the ending open and so quick. It shows how Katniss doesn't have much to say about Prim. It was just how it needed to be.

Saving Prim is not important compared to stopping the hunger games. That's one death vs millions. And if Prim had survived but the capitol's cruelty continued, Prim could just be reaped again, and Katniss could not save her because she would be a mentor. Then Prim would die and the hunger games would still be going on. Then the whole story would be pointless. The way it is, it's perfect! "I'm not sure I understand your point. Couldn't Prim have survived and the Hunger Games stopped? Not to mention, after Prim died, Katniss voted 'yes' for a New Hunger Games. While, yes, that would have been a one-time deal, it still didn't stop yet, even after Prim's death. You know?
I thought it was cool how Peeta and Katniss had kids together. But I feel bad for Gale because I know he really liked Katniss.
