I've had this on my TBR since my husband read them. He loved them. What is the first, I have Ice Wind Dale trilogy and Cleric Quintet in complete books one each form. Are one of them the start?
Sorry it took so long. Did you start reading it?

What should be read first the Dark Elf trilogy or the Icewind Dale trilogy? Dark Elf was written after Icewind Dale but it happens before.

Sorry was sick there for a little while or I would have updated the post.... the first book in the series is call Homeland the second isExile and the third is Sojourn let me know what pace you want to keep because I can read each of these books individually in 24hrs so whatever pace is good for everyone.
So Dark Elf, I've got them in trilogy book form. Icewind Dale, which starts with The Crystal Shard, was actually written and published before Homeland and sometimes when that is done there are discrepancies. I'll start with Homeland if you think that is the best.
Depending on the week and other books, I would be able to keep with a weekly schedule pretty easily.

The way he wrote it seems to follow the timeline well because the Dark Elf trilogy is about Drizzt and how he grew up and what it was like in Menzobaranzan and his eventual journey to the surface and why. I have never done a grp read before so I am unsure of what you mean by weekly schedule. A chapter a week? A book per week? Sorry this is a first for me any help would be appreciated.
I must have missed the notification that you posted back. It would be a book a week for me but I think it would be just me and you, maybe Elise?. If you want to start next week, or maybe the week after Christmas? I'm alright with either. So either a 20th start or a 27th start? I read about 4 books a week so I should be able to keep up with that and still get to my others. We could comment here though the thread should be moved to read with me folder.

After Christmas would be better because of some things I have going on during the holiday, I also don't mind if it's just us two or more :) let me know when/if you move the folder.. It should alert me right??? just to be sure I know where to go to look for it. :)
OK, the 27th then though I have a dinner that night so I might not get it started until the 28th or I'll start it early. :-)
I'll move it to buddy reads in the next week. It sounds good to me.

OK, so I started and the first was very slow for me since there is a lot of world building and a lot of characters with the crazy fantasy names for your mind to get a hold of. I ended up reading through once I pushed through the first 1/3 and started to get interested. Ended on a high note and I couldn't stop and wait for next week, sorry about that. I ended up reading book 2 and am currently well into book 3. Really liked 2 and think that I might end up liking 3 even better. These seem to be getting better and better.

I think that the first book would've made more sense if I knew more of the world in advance. Since these were written after the second trilogy, I think they were written that way. Still I think I've caught up enough after a bit. :-)

Oh, finished 3 also and really liked it too. I will wait on you to get to read it and then decide when to start the Crystal Shard and Ice Wind Dale. I will probably do the same and read through as this seem to go really well one into the next. A break between for me is good though. So on the original schedule it would start the 10th.
Let me know what you think.
