SOLVED. A smutty romance book with a Native American man and a colonial(?) woman. [s]

I remember some years back this book.
There was this Native American guy that somehow ended up in some colonial woman's basement or something like that. When she discovers him in there in the middle of the night, he panics and basically kidnaps her so that she can't tell anyone anything. They go riding out out of the town in the morning, she's in a carriage or something and they pass by some sort of official and the guy makes her keep going and not give him away. In the forest they sleep together and she's scared of him so she sees a pair of scissors behind him (I think she packed it?) and takes it while they're still lying on the ground and tries to stab his back. He's upset. Later (I think?), there's this incident where some other guy asks to have sexytimes with her for money, the protagonist agrees, pretends to be drunk, gets the money, and then somehow prevents the rape of the lovely colonial woman.
That's all that I can remember. I hope I'll be able to find it, because despite its weirdness, I can't get it out of my head. I want to finish it. Thank you!
