I'm reading Rise of the Horde (warcraft series), my boyfriend highly reccomended it to me. I hope it's Going to be fun!
Slowly but steadily working my way through The Casual Vacancy, but I have to break up my reading of that book, because it's not exactly chock full of sunshine and rainbows. >.>I've also started Allegiant and I'm listening to Skin Game on my commute. It's the last book that is currently out in the Dresden Files series, the end is going to be bittersweet... I'll have a long wait ahead of me for the next installment! However will I fill the drudgery that is my morning commute after?

I've got the first book in the Dresden files!! Are they worth the read?
Charlie wrote: "I've got the first book in the Dresden files!! Are they worth the read?" I love them! I am biased, because I've listened to all of them in audiobook format because James Marsters. (He rocks that narration *so* hard). So I don't know how the books come across if you read the paper edition and I probably never will, because his interpretation is now my interpretation when reading. :)
What I can tell you is this: I've had trouble in the past finding an urban fantasy series that I liked, but Jim Butcher's Dresden Files have gripped my attention from the start.
I think it's the combination of an interesting ensemble cast, awesome action scenes and a healthy dose of (geeky) laugh-out-loud humor. What's also very nice to see now that I've progressed in the series is that threads that have been spun in the early installments come together in an intricate web of plotty goodness. I love when that happens :D
The first book is good, the second suffers a bit from classic second book syndrome, but then the series *really* picks up and I for one have not regretted the decision to commit to it at all! Would definitely recommend and I hope you'll like them as much as I do!
This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab. Other than that, I've been slowly making my way through:
A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
The Black Prism by Brent Weeks
Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger
I'm currently reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone and And I Darken but And I Darken is taking all my attention right now. The world is so fascinating and I'm liking the main characters!
