Character Reappearances in Murakami novels

I've read 3 Murakami novels so far, the first being Hard Bolied Wonderland And The End Of The World, the second 1Q84, and I just finished The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle yesterday.

I found it interesting (sparing moderate spoiler details) that of the 3 of his novels I have read, 2 out of the 3 share at least 1 minor character, 2 out of the 3 are definitely taking place within the same year, and all 3 are set in and around Tokyo. Furthermore, it seems as if Hard Boiled Wonderland could be a spinoff or sequel to Wind-Up Bird, based on the main characters, although as much as I can remember in Hard Boiled Wonderland the main character is never named.

Has anyone else read the same combination of novels? In other Murakami novels beside these, are there any other instances of characters sharing the same world though different novels?

I am almost through with WInd up Bird and that is my first by him. Which was your favorite? I

Read Wind Up Bird and can't say it made much sense to me. I don't think I'll read any more of his books if what you are saying is true, that is, it's more of the same.

Murakami writes all of his books about the same character (hint - a young version of Murakami) and more or less on the same topic. Fascinating and intriguing at first, and gradually becoming dull and repetitive. Depends where you start, I guess, but for me the 1Q84 was the straw that broke the camels back. Wild Sheep's Chase was my first and most interesting because of that.
