I liked being able to use 1/2 stars too. You can do that on LibraryThing.

Julie (julielill) | 33 comments Leafmarks now officially kaput. Sad.

Jerry-Book | 25 comments It looks like LM is finally down. Was anyone an original member? How long was it up?

message 104: by Kythe42 (new)

Kythe42 | 33 comments I was there for most of the time it was around. I think it was there at least two years, but probably less than three.

Jerry-Book | 25 comments I had just switched to it when Shelfari sent out its notice.

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments I like LibraryThing much better than GoodReads.

message 108: by LibraryCin (new)

LibraryCin | 196 comments I think i was there about two years. Kythe was there before me, and groups were brand new when i joined. I joined as backup and because id heard there were nested group conversations.

Sharon, for the longest time i preferred lt as well. Im getting better here at gr, though.

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments My mini iPad takes forever to load GR, and I get impatient. LibraryThing is just so easy!

That's weird. It takes seconds to load on my iPad mini. I wonder if its a cache problem.

Agreed!

Julie (julielill) | 33 comments I like things about both Goodreads and LibraryThing but for different reasons.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 160 comments I probably would like LibraryThing, but I just don't have the energy to learn another site. I don't know this one very well yet - it is HUGE! I have a feeling it will take years for me to get the hang of using even half of the features. I am praying this site does not close down also.

message 115: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments I'm using both LT and GR. GR usually exasperates me after just a few minutes while I enjoy my time on LT.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 160 comments Maybe while I'm home on staycation, I'll check it out.

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments Let me know if you do. Enjoy your staycation!

What are the things you particularly like about each?

Julie (julielill) | 33 comments Sharon wrote: "Julie wrote: "I like things about both Goodreads and LibraryThing but for different reasons."

Goodreads- My daughter is on the site and I can follow what she is reading, the print is bigger and the site more colorful, I like the quotes and I like the feed about what everyone is reading on my friend list. LibraryThings- You can add your movies to the site and most of my groups from Shelfari and Leafmarks moved over there.

message 120: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments Thanks, Julie. I didn't realize I could add movies to LT.

I think they just added that recently.

Laurie (laugal) Dosha (Bluestocking7) wrote: "I get confused when someone likes my review. What review? I didn't read it yet! When I go to the book to see what is going on, it is shelved as read. So, I fix it, and it is like a vicious circle, ..."

I am getting the same message. There are books I have not read yet either and people are liking my review!

Sharon Beers (goodreadscomsharonanneb) | 25 comments I have the same experience.
