Didn't think I would either but just found Atari in the book I am reading now. And it is a book that just came out last year. It doesn't have a specific model, but from the context, it implies an old version.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Thanks! I've heard that book is good too, but I tried a sample and wasn't sure. But I had the same reaction to Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton and when I actually read the whole thing, I loved it.

I also use a lot of audio books, but I use Amazon's "look inside" feature to get a page number (usually of the hardcover edition, but sometimes paperback) to reference.

Mickey Mouse would work as long as its reference to the cartoon (movie or Tv) and not just the character at like Disneyland or something.

message 81: by JenniferJ (new)

message 82: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Sorry Elishia, I missed your first question when I was on my Kindle...dang small screen.

I'll accept orange juice and hunting cabin.

For counselor it would depend on the context. If it's like a school guidance counselor, not so much cause you don't really talk to them the way you do a therapist. Like a counselor at a shelter or something like an AA meeting or another type of meeting group, I'll take that.

Jennifer, I'll accept umbrella for parasol.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Elishia wrote: "Paris would you take handheld video game if the book is set in 1986? It doesn't specify a brand."

So as long as it's a handheld video game console and not something like one of those weird handheld poker games that really aren't much of anything,I would accept that.

Book Concierge wrote: "Question: Bonus # 1 Beautician

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 2457 comments Question re: "log cabin"

The book mentions a "log fort" and later describes it as "remains of two walls and seven or eight log buildings" Another page later they talk about "taking axes to the wall of a cabin and chopping it into firewood. Then they handed out the logs...."

So does this count?

message 95: by Book Concierge (new)

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 2457 comments Question: "wheelchair"

The word isn't used, because in the mid 19th century the term isn't in use. But the book described "attached wheels to the bottom of a chair" (the character is building this for a character who had a leg amputated
