Poldark Soundtrack Playlist, YouTube

I thought you might enjoy this.
This soundtrack is so evocative and splendid. It's just beautiful.

I'm tempted to buy something from this site--it's subtle and like having an "inside joke" with other fans. http://www.redbubble.com/people/cathe...

Victoria Smiser | 121 comments TANYA these are fun! Have you seen a pill box with Ross or Demelza's portrait? I saw it a few days ago but can not find again. The parcaschosen puzzle was fun...

"Poldark was actually one of the most radical period dramas of its day, reflecting the influence of the novels written by Winston Graham on which it was based. The first Poldark novel was published in 1945, the year Britain elected a Labour government intent on building a more egalitarian society. Graham’s work was shaped by that context."

"...contemporary Britain resembles the world of Poldark, with elites of various sorts appearing to run roughshod over laws and morals in pursuit of advantage, the people helpless to stop them. Like the Warleggans in Poldark’s fictional past, bankers today commit crimes and still prosper."

Sexing up Cornwall: but there’s more to Poldark than good looks

"My name is Alex Rowe I am a postgraduate History student from Cornwall. I am currently studying at Plymouth University. My main research interest is Cornish mining history and heritage. My undergraduate dissertation looked at community resilience in the mining district of St Just, Cornwall during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. My aim is to create a blog for everyone to enjoy combining my research interests and love for all things Poldark."

Victoria Smiser | 121 comments TANYA - with your disease and medical familiarity what did you think of Julia's death being caused by untreated strep throat in this History Guide??? AND what would the incubation period have been for putrid throat/diphtheria? in the book/series it seemed to come on so quickly...

Victoria-I'm preparing a post on Julia and Diphtheria. The intro to my edition of Bella makes it clear that it's Diphtheria. Stay tuned!

Group member Bonny has a Poldark-related blog!

"As you read the books, it's obvious people drank a lot of alcohol back then. Brandy, gin, port and wine are mentioned frequently."

Mara | 111 comments At this site you'll find a panel discussion of the Poladark 2015 series at the Royal Television Society. Many interesting points discussed about adapting the book for screen and contemporary audiences. On youtube it's title "RTS Poldark: Anatomy of a hit". A thoroughly enjoyable discussion.
