I was thinking something along similar lines. Although Lizzie was definitely injured by Darcy's first appraisals of her life and character, had she not held such a high opinion of herself, she would not have been offended at his words. Then, once she understood the gravity of his low opinion of her person, it seemed to me that she ceased to see him as a person with an independent mind and more of a person who was lead around by his money and social status; which reflected her prejudice toward moneyed individuals.

But, to me, that's a big part of what makes this story magic! Lizzie and Darcy overcome the almost insurmountable obstacle of their pretensions to find a love beyond their imaginings!
