I LOVED this book!! It introduced me to one of my favourite genre mythology, so it holds a very special place in my heart. The series is great. :)

I too watched the movies. The first one was a sheer waste of time and the second one crossed all the limits of disappointment. :(

I love this series so much <3 It's one of my definitely favourites and which I can always read whenever I feel like it. There are so many great main characters and supporting roles. Percy is of course one of my favourites. But I even like Annabeth and Grover much better. What do you think?
It's also nice because it shows we all have strengths and faults, but when we keep up and stay together, we win! I like how much the friendships are described in the book, too. Light and supporting and how they tease each other, but are always there when needed.
There is so much I could say about the book...What do you think about it? :)

I like Annabeth better than Percy. I think her wit and intelligence best attract me. :)

oh, I'm sorry, my writing was not clear enough to understand. I actually meant I like Annabeth and Grover much better than Percy even though he is also one of my favourites.

I have a friend who teaches English at a school for kids who have had trouble with the law. She has them read The Lightening Thief before they do a unit on Mythology. By the time they are through Percy many of them are really interested in the Mythology. Something that most of these kids would have payed no attention to normally.
