★ℕłℂØℓҾ★ (Nix) (ladyknightnix) | 4549 comments Thanks for the picks, Mandiann!

For you I pick:

UnSouled (Unwind, #3) by Neal Shusterman - because this one is on my TBR as well, and I love the previous books in the series.

The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa - because ALSO on my TBR, and I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of the series.

Children of the Mind (The Ender Quintet, #5) by Orson Scott Card - because Orson Scott Card is a favorite author of mine, and I absolutely loved every book in the Ender series! (Except Ender in Exile which was still good, but only truly served to make fans happy who wanted to know what happened to Ender in the giant gap between the previous books 1 and 2.)

Enjoy!!!

message 64: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (teresitac78) | 340 comments My partner is Vicki. Choosing was a little more challenging this time because I had not read any of the books on the list and none were on my TBR list either. I think I found some really good ones:

Spark (Spark, #1) by Rachael Craw because it was the highest rated and it looks interesting.

The Hunt (Project Paper Doll, #2) by Stacey Kade because you gave the first book in the series 5 stars. I also liked the synopsis.

Illuminating Gracie by Lisa C. Temple because the description makes me want to read it.

Thank you SO much, Theresa! I think I'll begin with The Hunt (Project Paper Doll, #2) by Stacey Kade because I've put it off for SO long but I want to read it. LOL Thank you for picking it!

After reading that one I'll read Illuminating Gracie by Lisa C. Temple

All three sound SO good, right? LOL Thanks for the perfect picks!

Update: I wasn't able to get to a 2nd book due to my mother-in-law's last days. It was too busy and emotionally draining on me. But thank you for the picks! I loved the one I did read.

Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep - I heard good things about this author and it sounds like a nice paranormal novel.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin because I loved this series, and it would be a perfect October read

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern because of your comment above :) I've read it but only gave it 3 stars, hopefully you'll like it better.

Thanks Michelle!! Can't wait!! I'm on the wait list for the first one at the library. It's taking FOREVER for it to come in.

message 86: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (nessx) | 314 comments Not sure if this makes me very keen but here's my progress :p

Jesse's Girl (Hundred Oaks) by Miranda Kenneally
17/10/15 (4.5*)
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the style of writing and the characters. I didn't give it 5 stars because I felt that the ending was a bit rushed and a little more work could've been put into it to make it better. Overall, thanks for picking this one Megan x.

Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep
20/10/15 (3*)
I'm honestly not entirely sure how i feel about this book. It was a little hard for me to get into it initially but I guess I managed to make it through without too much difficulty. A lot of things irritated me though, like the frequent use of the word 'Yucko' - urgh ! and all the slut-shaming that was going on here.

Since Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke won't be released till the end of the month, I'll read it next month :)

Trisha | 30284 comments I'm picking for: Drishti

I'm so sorry you were delayed in getting picks. Thank you for being so patient!
for you I'm choosing:

1. The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, #1) by Rick Riordan
because you rated this author's other series really high AND this books has the Highest Goodreads rating (4.36) of all the books on your shelf!

2. Let It Snow by John Green
because it's a great winter read and you liked John Green's Fault in Our Stars so I think you will like this one too!

3. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
because I went through your highest rated books and I think this one is pretty in line with your highest ratings and it's a great book! I think you'll like it :D

Alright, I hope whichever one you pick is a winner!!

Not sure if I will get to the other two. I know I won't have time for Children of the Mind simply because my life is hectic right now and for that book I need more time. But I will try to get to UnSouled.

Glad you liked it! Definitely understand not reading Children of the Mind yet. Those last 3 books of the Ender series got really deep and philosophical, which is awesome, but you need to be in the right mindset to enjoy them :) Good luck with everything!

When I started this book, I didn't think I'd like it at all. It was hitting a little too close to home in some areas, and I didn't like revisiting those memories. It was dark. It was hard. It was true to life. Beautiful and tragic, all at the same time.

Thanks, Mandiann!

10/29
3.5*
I expected better from Riordan. The book was too childish. And, Riordan's repeating the same formula in all of his books. I just enjoyed a few parts. Overall, the book was a disappointment.
