The thing is, the 'worlds' keep almost colliding, but never touching. It happened in this book and also on the Kane Chronicles (If I remember correctly,they avoid NY because of the Greek gods)

I haven't read the Kane Chronicles yet. I really need to. And I have a feeling that the gods have a large hand in keeping the worlds seperate. I mean, they did it with the Greeks and Romans, they can do with others. the gods are such control freaks.

I hope Rick decided to explain the whole "four mythologies, one world" thing sometime in the future, heck, for all we know he's gonna write about the Hindu gods, etc.

Anyways I'm about 150 pages in and today was a slow reading day because of family traveling to my house!

So i started reading it and i love how witty and foolhardy Magnus as a character is. it makes me think back to the original Percy Jackson series more than Kane Chronicles or Heroes of Olympus has ever done. i'm really hoping for some more Annabeth Cameos in either future chapters or books

I think we should have a set of discussion questions for when we both finish the book, what do you think

I found the epilogue the most interesting, about how Randolph was actually "employed" by Loki. I loved them all much more than I expected, from the humor to the heartfelt moments and bonds they created. I thought I wouldn't like Norse mythology better than Greek, but I actually think I do, as it turns out to be quite interesting! I also love how Magnus was as a character, never losing his funny edge, yet still showing humanity, which is a tough balance to find. I can't wait for the next book! (hide spoiler)]
