Ending

(view spoiler)[I was quite surprised by the twist in the end although it was set up well by what came before. Perhaps one book in 100 has this kind of conclusion. I can't help wondering if the whole book was written to set up the ending. Not so much a spoiler but I don't see how the girls could have been locked in the apartment for a year without someone to watch them full time. There would have been a lot of traffic in and out. (hide spoiler)] Today, at least, there are no ferries from Klaipeda to Sweden.
