I work nights so will be going home and to bed shortly so I started day 3's pages just after 2 am and actually managed to finish them now even with having work to do as well. I'm really intrigued now and anxious to finish!

(view spoiler)[I'm on page 250 or such but OMG this has grown so much on me. I think I'll be adding this to my favourites. I love Baz. And Penny seems like a mix of Ron and Hermione but I still kind of like her. And surprisingly Simon is quite likable. l totally ship Simon and Baz. I don't really like Agatha and her name is a bit off-putting for her description. It's fine if she doesn't want Simon but I hate how she goes after Baz even though he's made it clear he's not interested. And I agree with your theory, Lucy probably is Simon's mum. So excited to finish. I'm probably reread some time in the future. >/spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad that you're falling in love with this story because I absolutely adore it! It will be an often re-read one I'm sure.

I'm confident Lucy is his mother now and assuming the mage is his father - and that he is also slightly mental. Is he really the humdrum and the chosen one both? Or is the mage somehow tied to the humdrum? Gah, I need answers! (hide spoiler)]

I am beating myself up for waiting this long to read this and also not sure that I will wait a full day to read the last section. I may have to move forward and go ahead and finish it! It's just that good! This book feels like nostalgia, like friends I've always known, and I need to know how it ends. Looking forward already to the sequel next month. (may have to fight my daughter for first dibs on it lol).

I'm glad you're enjoying it! But for me I think I'm getting a bit bored again. It picked up when Baz came in but then it kinda slumped downhill again. There's not really any substantial plot to really keep me interested. I'll keep reading though!

Aww I’m sorry to hear that! I really enjoyed it but I’m also currently half through the final installment of the And I Darken series which is deeper and darker so the light fluff of this story was perfect for me. I just finished it, I needed answers! lol

I managed to get to chapter 10 today while at work. I'm not really feeling this book yet, I'm hoping it picks up more soon because as of right now it's slow and I don't really care for the Mage. Like why would you want to send Simon away to be unprotected and alone when he could be at a school full of other people who could possibly help protect him?? Makes no sense to me, honestly.

No, to me either, I was wondering the same thing. Why send him away? I don't know if I trust the Mage, but that's probably a lot to do with him being like Dumbledore...

End of Book 1 (view spoiler)[ Most of this section was just characters' introduction, which can get boring at times. However, it started picking up in the end. I am glad that Agatha finally cut things off with Simon. She is just as annoying to me as she was my first read. Baz's mom left a message for Baz with Simon. Her killer has never been caught, and she gave Baz a message about it. At the very end, Baz finally made his appearance (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ G'd I hate the Mage so much. See, I know that this story is "fanfiction" in another book. And I know, that the similarities between the Mage and Dumbledore are on purpose, because there was/is still criticism that Dumbledore raised Harry to sacrifice himself. And that is literally what The Mage does.
He keeps Simon away from a loving, caring environment, so that Simon will miss Watford and the Magic World. At the same time The Mage presents himself as a mentor to Simon, someone Simon can trust and confide in.as the only one who truly loves and cares for Simon. He keeps Simon away from people, so that Simon would never start question him or that they will realise what he has been doing to Simon and they will take him away from him.
And now I have lost where I was going with this -.-
Uhm yeah. That's why Chapter 7 is the beginning of the end. That is the point where Simon rebels again him. Simon tells The Mage ' no'

But it is actual logical that The Mage died, when Simon said "Stop it, stop hurting me."
The Mage has abused Simon mentally all his life and he would have never stopped even with Simon losing all his power.
And I'm also not agreeing with Simon's psychologist, sort of. Yes, Simon has other, bigger problems, but how can he focus on them when he is thinking about his sexuality? For Simon , that is the bigger problem , so she should focus on that. (hide spoiler)]

I finished this book finally, yesterday but forgot to post in here.

All I can say is WOW, slow build up but once the action started going it just kept coming.

The first kiss scene was absolutely amazing, I mean come on who wouldn't want to be kissed as they were trying to burn themselves to death. LOL.

I can't believe The Mage, we all knew he was no good.

Can't wait to read the next book at some point.
