Sarah (sarah23l) Good to know Stuart. Think I'll refrain from adding that one to my TBR.

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) I won a copy of Blood Like Poison: For the Love of a Vampire and if you like vampire/paranormal romance, it's one I would recommend. Good flowing style of writing, making it an easy read. Just as well since I'm also still reading Vanity fair, Pillars of the Earth and Wizard's First Rule

Chris...I just ordered Wizard's First Rule from paperbackswap.

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) Shelli - I'm really enjoying it, but it's a bit of a whopper! It's another book that flows well despite being complicated. I also like the plot lines that are not spelled out. I think you'll like it

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments I finished reading Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks this afternoon and feel quite bereft! I loved it - full of deception, twists and turns, and that wicked Christopher Brookmyre humour. I've now turned to the next on my list of Books I Own Challenge, which is One Hundred Years of Solitude.Hope it grabs me quickly!

Shelli Halfway to the Grave...if you like vampires...this is so good!!!

message 1616: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I just finished reading On the Edge by Ilona Andrews. It was a paranormal romance & I was surprised how much I liked it. My review is here:
http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Prior to this, I'd read her Kate Daniels series, which is more urban fantasy & was pretty good. In both cases, I really liked the neat world she created. The Edge is a border land between the Weird (magic land) & the Broken (our mundane world). Rose lives in the Edge, makes her living in the Broken & fears those of the Weird with good cause.

If you like this genre, I'd highly recommend checking her books out. While the latest was a romance, I appreciated that the sex wasn't graphic & the romance wasn't over done.

Jazmynne | 2 comments Right now I am reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I just finished the Hunger Games, and it was AMAZING! So far, I'm a bit dissapointed with Catching Fire. It isn't as interesting as I thought it would be. I haven't finished it yet so I'm curious to see if things will change...

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I just finished the 8th Sookie Stackhouse book on audio & am now reading the 9th. A friend just loaned me the 11th, so I'm trying to finish up to that point. I only could download the first 8 (except for the 4th) from my local library. They're much quicker to read than listen to.

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments I'm reading A Changed Man and Other Stories by Thomas Hardy and also Breakfast on Pluto by Patrick McCabe. The short stories are hard going - grim, on the whole - but am enjoying the McCabe book.
