I am currently reading Poe's Light House which is a collaboration of a story which Edgar Allan Poe never finished...each story starts off with what he wrote and then another author finishes the story. Very cool book so far. I am also in the middle of another book called Dark Masques which is a horror anthology...just started that one, and hopefully my book group will come up with a pick for the month of April and I will be reading whatever gets picked for that.

I am currently reading The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and For Packrats Only: How to Clean Up, Clear Out, and Live Clutter-Free Forever! by Don Aslett.
Donna wrote: "Well, of course the whole sucicide thing is depressing but it doesn't play out that way in the book. I guess you would have to read it to understand me LOL"Donna, I've had Thirteen Reasons Why hanging around for awhile and decided to start it last night. I'm also finding that I'm not overwhelmed with the depressing factor.
If you're interested in reading Poe's Light House check out CemeteryDance.com. They might be the only place to find a copy...also check your library and if there are any downloading ebook formats. The book I've got says it's a limited edition of 1000 copies so I don't know how hard this thing might be to find. But as a fan of Poe, you will definitely enjoy this title.

no problem, I hope you are able to find a copy so we can talk about it sometime...if I see it anywhere online, I'll send a note.
Hey Kathy, I found it on Amazon.comhere's the link
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=a...
It's definitely worth the price and if you're lucky it might come as a numbered copy with signatures...I'd hurry on this title if you can
I just started Dark Fire by C.J. Sansom. I really enjoyed the first book in his Shardlake series, and this one is very engrossing so far.Jo: One of my best friends is a huge Haruki Murakami fan and she bought me Norwegian Wood for my birthday last year. I'd be interested to know what you think of Kafka on the Shore because I want to know which book of his to read next.

Well, I saw it there, too, Steven, but I balked at the price, $35 was the cheapest. However, I may change my mind.

Hey Kathy, the book is a special Cemetery Dance book and being that they are limited the price won't be too cheap anywhere. I even checked EBay and they were starting at 64 bucks and I even saw some selling for 99. Maybe there's a way to find it online as an ebook. I'd say email Cemetery Dance and find out on that one though.

The $35 doesn't sound so bad now.
yeah that's about the cheapest I've seen it but I wouldn't stop there. You should do a search through a few more book shops online. Maybe check out DarkDelicacies.com as well. Definitely do some shopping around first,Also, you should sign up for Cemetery Dance's updates cause they get some killer grab bags that they throw together and I bought one for about 45 bucks and this Poe's Light House was in it, and it was just one of the titles I received in the box...grab bags are awesome and well worth the money.

no problem :o) if you let me know what type of books you are into, I might have some sites saved in my favorites I could send your way as well
Steven wrote: "no problem :o) if you let me know what type of books you are into, I might have some sites saved in my favorites I could send your way as well"Well, my guilty pleasure is the bubonic plague, both the 1300's one and the 1600's one. I have a category I've started for this for books I've read and ones to-read, but it's a work in progress right now.

Matthew - I have read a lot of Murakami and I think Wind Up Bird Chronicle is my favourite.
And I am currently reading Ordinary Thunderstorms by William Boyd. Ordinary Thunderstorms
Louise wrote: "Matthew - I have read a lot of Murakami and I think Wind Up Bird Chronicle is my favourite."Thanks Louise, I just added that to my wishlist. I will look out for it!
Sharpe's Prey by Bernard Cornwell. I've seen some of the movies, but I've never read one of the books.
Jim wrote: "Get out the hanky, Donna. Great book, but so sad."Uh Oh! I hear that a lot but I haven't got that far I guess....
Summer wrote: "i'm reading Dreaming Anastasia right now. it's pretty good, kinda weird."I have that one, too, Summer, but I haven't read it yet. I'd like to know what you think of it after you've finished it.
I am currently reading, (and almost done with) Peace, Love & Baby Ducks.A good book so far, i hope it gets better!
Hi nearly finished everywhere and everywhen and I have enjoyed it, but boy did it make for a complicated read in parts. Still I like science books that make things a little difficult. They are so much better than the science books that rely on cartoons and the lowest possible denominator to express themselves with.
I have decided to read The Murder Exchange - Simon Kernick and then I will read Little Face - Sophie Hannah.
Tonight I'm starting A Murderous Procession, the latest of the Adelia Aguilar books by Ariana Franklin. I've loved the first three in this series.
I just started Justin Cronin's The Passage and let me tell you AWESOME!! so far, and I'm thinking I should call into work just so I can stay home and read it all :o)
Started Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carrigan. I actually read the first few chapters on my kindle and thought I'd give it a try. Seems very promising for a fun read.
Finished blood river and it was I know repeating myself here !! A brilliant read. Time a users guide now and so far I am not very impressed. Got as far as page 60 but its not my kind of thing.Nothing wrong with it as such, but its not floating my balloon, its not putting sauce on my halibut!!
Finished A Murderous Procession yesterday and loved it! I'm now reading The Wife's Tale: A Novel by Lori Lansens, who wrote on of my all-time favorites, The Girls.
Just this hour started The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design Only read the introduction so far but it looks promising. The Time book was OK as far as it went, but it didn't gel with me. I think it tried to cover too much ground and a lot of the information I had read in previous books.
I am reading The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades Before Roe v. Wade. Excellent, although heartbreaking.
I have got to page two hundred of The Cosmic Landscape and its fascinating if challenging reading. Think I understand a lot of what its about, but I wouldn't like to try and answer questions on what I've read so far !
I am on page two hundred of The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters and its a very strange and compelling book. Haven't a clue yet what its all about, yet it makes me want to throw away everything and hang on for the ride !!
