Hawking put out a more recent version call A Briefer History of Time. That's the one I was thinking about when I nominated. Either way, I'm hoping it is as accessible to the non-Physics person as I hope.
The Goodreads page for this book says it's just over 200 pages, and the "briefer" one is about 170, so it didn't seem that much briefer to me. Whichever one people want to go with will probably be fine.
Just checked my library website. I can get Briefer but not Brief on audio, so is rather Briefer. But will go with the group decision.
I'll be listening to the "brief" version on audio. I'll see if I can get the physical book from the library to look back at after listening on my commute.
"Brief" is starting to sound like a rather strange word from the number of times I've seen it here, ha
I have so many books on the go right now that I haven't even downloaded the audio yet, but it's definitely on my to-do list for tomorrow
Not yet. I was working my way through the humor challenge. But I am downloaded and ready to roll. ;-)
I think I'm next in line at the library (although I'm going with Briefer since it's supposed to be a little more accessible).
I started listening this week and somehow I feel smarter already... And stupider. :-x I'm listening to a section in my morning commute, then go
Back and listen to the same section on my way home. So far I find myself reaching back into memory files for HS physics and European history. Once again, I suspect that I have forgotten more things than I currently know. But I'm enjoying myself and it's a nice change from my usual reading.
