History: (I know this is a little far fetched but I need to practice writing as this character so...) His family was the most wealthy in Florence since the 1300s. Giuliano and his brother Lorenzo inherited the de facto seat after their father, Piero died. There were many attempts at coups to overthrow their rule because many people thought that the Medici were tyrannical (partially true - of course, Florence was at its best!) So, while at mass for Easter, a bunch of conspirators practically killed Giuliano and left him there dying on the floor of il Duomo (the Florence cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore). But he was saved by a friend who stole a horse and rode to Careggi (a nearby city), where he sort of patched his wounds (but not entirely); they then rode to Paris (Giuliano was still unconscious), where Giuliano came back to his life.

Natasha and her cousin Sonya arrived at her godmother's house in Moscow for a visit after her engagement to Prince Andrey Bolkonsky (Prince is a noble title in Russia, Grand Prince would refer to a royal). While at the opera, she met Anatole Kuragin and fell in love With encouraging from Anatole's sister, Natasha met him at a ball where they kiss. He then sent her a letter asking her to elope with him, which she did, not knowing that he is married, among other things. Natasha's elopement was stopped by Sonya and her prudish godmother, but her reputation will never be the same.
