Julia (julia103) | 321 comments Most of the description is about re-publication of the series by Springer Publishing, but this description is also on https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... which is the edition published in 1961 by Grosset & Dunlap.
Can this be changed to only use the second paragraph?

The same problem exists with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

(Some of these don't mention Springer, but "series editor and registered nurse Harriet Foreman" is specific to the Springer reissues.)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... have this issue but also the paragraphs actually about the book describe "Cherry Ames, Flight Nurse" not "Cherry Ames, Cruise Nurse".
The description for https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... doesn't have the Springer issue but also describes "Cherry Ames, Flight Nurse".
The description for https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... describes "Cherry Ames, Companion Nurse" not "Cherry Ames, Cruise Nurse"

Empress (the_empress) I think I fixed it, but I would be really appreciative it you check the editions again. I switched flight nurse for cruise nurse for the last editions as well.

Julia (julia103) | 321 comments Thanks for working on this.

I didn't notice before, but
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... have the description for Flight Nurse instead of the correct books.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... have the description for Staff Nurse instead of the correct books.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... still has the sentence about series editor Harriet Foreman. Can you take off one more sentence (to start with "As a doctor's office nurse...")?

Cruise Nurse descriptions are still wrong - I'm assuming the Springer description: "Worn out from an exhausting year of working as a visiting nurse in New York, Cherry takes a 'vacation' as staff nurse on a two weeks cruise to Curacao. Cherry's working vacation on a glamorous cruise ship entangles her in a search for a hidden stash of rare ambergris." is the accurate one.

And some more that have the description about reprint but are different (earlier) publishers:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

(I only looked at ones with cover images the first time)

I'm not sure what should be done with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8.... It says published by Springer Publishing, but 1961 publishing date. Is there someplace to check for the correct information?

Julia (julia103) | 321 comments These still need to be fixed. Thanks.

Empress (the_empress) Can you also post the correct description that it needs to be substituted for?

This https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... has this description for example: http://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/eboo...

Julia (julia103) | 321 comments https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... should be:

"Little does Nurse Cherry realize when distinguished Sir Ian Barclay is rushed by his nephew Lloyd to Hilton Hospital that her newest case will carry her north to misty, sea-beaten Balfour Island, off the rugged coast of wind-swept Newfoundland. "Sudden hemorrhage of a peptic ulcer," Dr. Joe Fortune had quickly diagnosed, and Cherry is assigned to care for the truculent but endearing old Scotsman. Cherry soon suspects that more than illness is worrying the peppery owner of the Balfour Iron Mines, and her suspicions only deepen upon their arrival at Barclay House on Balfour Island.

True, there is trouble at the mines. But the mysterious actions of Sir Ian's erstwhile friend, Jock Cameron, force Cherry to conclude that trouble of even greater consequence is in the making. What hold does the industrialist Broderick have over Sir Ian? Who is "Little Joe" Tweed, and why does his trawler Heron ride at anchor off Balfour Island?

The startling solution to this baffling mystery waits for Cherry in three different places: deep in the salt-stained recesses of Rogues' Cave, in the musty tower room of Barclay House, and in the hole on the hill. But first Cherry must face the effects of an island storm, as she and the island doctor struggle to save the crew of a shoal-wrecked boat."

(Removing the section about the reprints and added paragraph breaks)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... should be:
"As a public health nurse in Iowa, Cherry works with federal authorities to quash the manufacture and distribution of a bogus remedy and discovers the secret of a decrepit, abandoned farmhouse."

(Removing the sections about the reprints)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... should be:

"When Cherry Ames learns that the new patient in her ward is using the proceeds from her deceased husband's life insurance to speculate in stock, she judges her foolish. And when the young woman explains the Pell Corporation investment program, Cherry suspects that her patient is being swindled.

Even more serious, Peggy Wilmot is jeopardizing her health. For emotional tension over the delayed arrival of her weekly dividend check is retarding her recovery. But how can Cherry influence the headstrong young woman who seeks financial help from the wrong people? Find out the truth about the Pell Corporation, Cherry decides, and let the facts speak for themselves.

Some of the vital questions to which Cherry must find the answers are: What are the Pell Corporation's actual operations as distinguished from the fantastic claims made in its impressive brochures? Is the mysterious Cleveland Pell really the financial wizard he claims to be? Busy with ward duty and a training program for teen-age junior volunteers at Hilton Hospital, Cherry does not have much time for another extracurriculartask. But the plight of Peggy Wilmot is too serious to be ignored.

What Cherry learns in the mysterious world of the "high finance" confidence game will surprise the reader as much as it does America's favorite nurse heroine."

(Removing sections about the reprints)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... should be:
"Worn out from an exhausting year of working as a visiting nurse in New York, Cherry takes a 'vacation' as staff nurse on a two weeks cruise to Curacao. Cherry's working vacation on a glamorous cruise ship entangles her in a search for a hidden stash of rare ambergris."

The publication date on https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... doesn't match the publisher (Springer didn't republish them until 2007), but I don't know which is wrong, the date or the publisher.
If the publisher is wrong, then the description should not include the sections about the reprints.

The others have been fixed. Thanks!

Empress (the_empress) All fixed.

About the publishing date. This is the edition with the earliest publishing date, it is a matter of investigating when was this book published for the first time and the answer at wiki as 1962! .

So the date is positively wrong! So now the question is which dates and how many edition this publisher has, we might need to actually merge the book if all are already present as editions, if not we can amend the date. For now I have removed it.

P.S.
Okay merged into the hardcover edition of which this one was a duplicate.
