Elaysee | 4 comments There are (at least) three entries for this issue of Apex Magazine, and I'd like to understand how one would handle this type of combining of editions.

The entries are:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

One has all the contributors as authors, listed in order within the issue, one lists only the editor, and the last lists the generic "Apex Publications" as author.

It looks like I'd need to edit all the records to have the same primary author, then combine the editions - is that correct?

The librarian manual sounds like I should merge on the editor as primary author. For the first entry I've referenced above, it looks like I'd need to move the editor's name to the top of the author list. For the third, it would seem most conservative to add the editor as primary author, but retain Apex Publications as an additional author.

I'd appreciate guidance on whether this understanding is correct, as well as the timing of making changes (do I need to wait for e.g. author changes to propagate before making further changes?). If I should leave this to someone more experienced, please let me know.

Thanks!

Correct.

No need to keep the publisher as an author if the editor is known.

Author moves should be effective immediately. No propagation needed.

Elaysee | 4 comments Thank you! I just made the changes and combined the editions, and everything looks like I hoped it would.
