I can't really remember anything else about the book. As the topic suggests, it centred around the idea that there was a group of people who were able to view multiple streams of information and pick stuff out of it. The example I'm interested was a solution that they came up with for stopping the opium trade in afganistan. Most people weren't able to do it for along, but there was one character that was.
