If it's not too late, I'd like to do this fun challenge as well. :)

You were affected by my goof up and have a choice of tasks. Please follow the link to the Task Assignments and let me know which task you prefer.
I haven't been doing too well with completing challenges lately (and I'm moving the end of October, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have), but I'll give it a try.
Janice wrote: "Your task has been assigned, Kristie. Use the link in msg 103 to learn what it is."Excellent! Thanks. :)
Oh dear... I solved the cryptogram, but I'm unsure about whether I want to play... Two of the choices would be really difficult for me, especially #4.
Janice wrote: "Bella wrote: "I'm going to do task #3."What? You didn't want to read Twilight? LOL!"
Seriously, Janice. You don't think that in 100 years Stephenie Meyer will be as well regarded as Edith Warton is today? I guess you just don't "get" modern American literature. (Sniff.)
Hard puzzle I had to have help but we figured it out I am going to go with the first number picked #2
Camilla wrote: "Oh dear... I solved the cryptogram, but I'm unsure about whether I want to play... Two of the choices would be really difficult for me, especially #4."Would task #5 work for you? I rolled the fruit machine, and that was it's roll for you.
Bella wrote: "Seriously, Janice. You don't think that in 100 years Stephenie Meyer will be as well regarded as Edith Warton is today? ..."LOL! Will she even be remembered in 100 years?
Janice wrote: "Would task #5 work for you? ..."Oooh, yes Janice, that task is not difficult! I was mainly concerned about task #4, as that type of book is really not my cup of tea. So I guess this means I'm in. Thanks Janice!
I definitely want in for this one!Edited to add: I've solved the cryptogram. May I pretty please not get #4?
Anne, you can buy a vocal (or all 5 of them). The price is a 5 stars book recommendation. I'm sure you have some spare ones of those! :)

Camilla wrote: "So now I have to tell in this thread the book I'll read, but not why I chose it, correct?"Yes, that's correct. My thinking was that it would give away the solution to the puzzle.
Anne (Booklady) wrote: "Can't do it. sigh. Not good at puzzles"Anne, if you go back to message 1, you will see that there is already a hint for one of the vowels. A one letter word is either going to be "a" or "I". The other really big hint is contractions usually end in a "s" or "t".
Maybe there is someone who can help you? Let me know if you change your mind.
Anne (Booklady) wrote: "Can't do it. sigh. Not good at puzzles"Anne, I felt the same way but I kept reading the hints given and finally cracked it. My problem was that I thought each letter cracked worked the same way in opposite, i.e. e=a, a=e...not so. Each letter has it's own code. Hope that helps.
Any single letter following an apostrophe at the end of a long word is very likely an "s" because it is likely to be a possessive.
I've decided to read The Rithmatist for my book selection. We can start reading in just a few short days. Where did September go?
I'm thinking A Guide to the Birds of East Africa or The City & the City. Most prob the former.Edit: or Snow
Good puzzle - right difficulty to be fun I thought : )I'm thinking of reading Broken for You or The Scent of Rain and Lightning, but still considering.
Revised to say that after hearing Bill Clinton's endorsement on Fareed Zakaria's program today, I'm also now considering The Wright Brothers, which also works for my assigned task here.
I'm going to read Mies kuumasta, I conveniently had planned to read it in early October anyway, as it needs to go back to the library.

If you really can't find a book to fit, I can roll again.

I'll try, and do my best. If nothing comes out, I'll let you know.
Thanks!

Thanks Janice! I hope I can find one :)
