Daily Word Count
I'm gonna write more today, but here's what I've written so far:
2-12-16
1,621 words in an hour!
That means in my novel I've just past 50,000 words! (I wrote just over 50,000 in Nov. but I cut 7,000 words. Harsh, right?)

Nice job!!! :D Gah, now I feel so terrible about my own word counts lately. Great job hitting 50k!

So yesterday I did the marvelous amount of 441 words (thanks, Lena!) in Broken Reflections. So... yay me!

found your board - think its a great idea - hope you don't mind if I do something similar - anyway had a wander through your boards and followed half a dozen or so which looked really interesting - I only get up there about once a week but it's a good way of seeing what folk are about:)

I'm working on a new project (because why not?) that's a supernatural/dystopian. Can't say much, because ultra secret ... but yeah, I'm excited. ;)
Like always, Pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.com/writinganyo...
It's called While We Dig Our Graves . Pretty dramatic, huh? :P

Fun fact: I have changed my MC's name four times in the last ten pages, and in the beginning, I had it in 1st POV (everyone called her babe, because why not?).
So. For the month of November (today's the 26th), I've written about 23,185 words. You can try to figure out the math. ;)
So. Haha. NaNo kinda sucks, huh? Well, I wrote a lot in November, but that was my WHOLE LIFE that last week or so. I had about 20k to write in THREE DAYS, and, *gasp* I did it! Yay! I had about two 10k word days, along with a few 6k. It was exhausting! And if any of you have never had to write 9k in FOUR HOURS, be glad!!! (For those of you who are interested, I "validated" my novel on the official NaNo site with 30 seconds to midnight on the 30th).
So. It's safe to say that I'm a god. Or dead. ;)
What was my word count? 50,043 words. Ah. So exhausting. My novel was written in the style of a blog serial (think Worm) with narrations from the entities Death and (sometimes) Life, and two teenagers, Tony and (almost the whole thing narrated by) Lincoln.
The whole novel is from the aspect of my personality where everything is yeah, but why? and philosophical stuff ... so a lot on life versus death. It's a paranormal/apocalyptic/contemporary kinda thing. I still haven't worked it all out. ;)
And here ( https://www.pinterest.com/writinganyo... ) is my Pinterest board for it.
While We Dig Our Graves is the current work-in-progress title.
Thanks for reading my update!! And all of you who wrote at least SOMETHING this month did an AMAZING job!! Congratulate yourselves!!

Your story sounds so doggone eerie

Thank you!! Yep. I'm pretty lucky, because I'm homeschooled and always plan for a bunch of half-days in November. But I've heard that college can be brutal on NaNo novels. ;)

Ah. Okay. So after a ton of days of Pinteristing and quote-searching, I have started back to my novel While We Dig Our Graves. For those of you who don't know, my 50k words got deleted (what all do you write with? I've had sooo much trouble using Microsoft word doc), so I'm rewriting that book, in a sense.
Just in time for NaNo, lol.
But yeah.

1,083 words. Counting an opening quote by Erin Hanson.
My opening scene:
Death sat on her bedroom floor, her knees pulled up to her chest. The black folds of her skirt a puddle around her.
Her breath was even, calm. Her hands were as still as if there was no blood coursing through her veins. A small smile was even painted across her face. No one would have thought that the little girl looking herself in the mirror was being torn apart inwardly.
Except for the tears.

Ooh, Death is always an interesting character to write.
All 50K words got deleted?!?!?! D:
Depending on the project, I use Scrivener or just write in a notebook. I haven't used Microsoft Word for major projects in a long time.
Scriverner's really nice because it backs up after every 2 seconds of inactivity, and if it closes unexpectedly, saves a recovery file.

Oh wow that's horrible that 50,000 words got deleted. Once I lost a whole chapter, but nothing so much as that.
I use Libre Office because it's the office system that I have on my computer, but every ten thousand words or so into my WIP's I also, save it to a thumb drive. Then when I start getting betas I send the story out to them through email so it's saved on that.
But on another note, that's a great word count! And that looks really col that you have Death as a character :P

Lol, yes, she is. :D
I tried the free trial for Scrivener, but never quite got into it. Aaaaaand I don't have the patience not the handwriting for notebooks, lol.

A chapter is awful, too!!! Losing any of your precious work is terrible. :/
I need to get into the habit of "deep" saving it, but, alas, I have yet to start with that. :P
(thanks, btw :) )

Also. Partway through yesterday (the first day of Official Camp NaNo) I decided to change my project. Looooool. Eek. But I'm excited!
