One by one I'm rereading the Harry Potter series. It seemed like a good fit for the Banned week, as they are some of the most banned/challenged banned books in the world.

This was my least favorite book of the series, but I just can't believe that people ban them. It breaks my heart lol

What was the reason for banning it? This is news to me and I can't understand what would make it banned.

Interesting, thank you! :)
Michelle wrote: "That's just ridiculous. It's called fiction for a reason."Hey now, don't call it fiction just because the muggles don't like not having a wand!!! lol

When the books started becoming popular and JK was on morning talk shows...my sister in law (kids close to the same age as my own) told me how dark and evil this woman appeared. How she would NEVER let her kids read anything she wrote and how she was pretty certain that JK was some spawn of the devil. Now this SIL is not one of those uber paranoid freak out parents so I was surprised. And my kids were too young so I read them myself (why let me kids read it if I wasn't willing myself??).Now we learn about how much work JK put into each character. How Ron is supposed to be a bit of a bigot because that's they way he was taught, not because he was bad. And he could change. How Hermione was supposed to be strong and capable and never princess-y. How Ron was always #2, never the superstar but he ended up with someone that could see him for who he really was. How Neville and Luna and even Seamus were vital characters.
