Hi, my name is Patricia Nedelea and I'm living in Transylvania.
I've done a PhD at History and Civilisation Department of European University Institute, Florence. My doctoral subject was on Renaissance History, more specifically on Tarot Cards as Pedagogical Art of Memory Places. My other PhD (Comparative Gender Studies, at Central European University, Budapest) was dealing with Shakespeare, Deconstruction and Queer Theory.
I am fascinated by Late Medieval and Renaissance Historical Fiction. My future plan is to read more fiction about those times.

He inspired me to write, think critically and knowing what happened wasnt enough. His encouragement to look at situations from all sides of history sparked my continued interest. Hi, I'm Steve from the UK. I like reading mainly non-fiction books, particularly history, but also geography & travel, biography, occasional books on politics and economics. Particular historical interests include American history, 20th century British history and European history, but actually I'm really just interested in anything and everything! I occasionally read historical fiction, but usually just ones that give you a real sense or flavour of history rather than just plonking a story in a historical setting.

Hello! I was asked to explain my own history with, well, history. I've always had a penchant for the past and gobbled up historical fiction as a kid/young adult (I still do), and eventually this led me to pursue a career as an actual historian. (I originally wanted to be a doctor, but thankfully I came to my senses). Unfortunately, in my final semester of college, I became gravely ill and had to leave school. This was three years ago and I'm still battling my illness, but I'm hoping to return to school one day and complete my degree. In the meantime, I read as many history books (both fiction and non-fiction) as I possibly can. While in college, I primarily focused on American Indian history, mostly from Reconstruction through WWII.

I'm currently reading River of Smoke by Amitav Ghosh and Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.
Can't wait to get to know you all!

I particularly enjoy reading about the histories of important periods or events and of countries from around the world. I studied Latin American studies, history, and Spanish when I was in school. Favorite authors for me are Allende, Marquez, Julia Alvarez, Pablo Neruda. For history, there is a great book out now about Simon Bolivar. I can not cite it correctly for this group from my phone but to help the author's name is Marie Arana.
