Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Hi All,I am Parikshit from Mumbai, India. I have been in love with history since 8th grade, which was back in 2005. At the time i only used to watch history channel documentaries. More recently I have started reading books on history.
My current favourite topics are World War 2, especially books which give perspective from the losing side. The American Civil War, I read Team of Rivals last year and the book blew me away. I also am curious about Indian history. I want to read book on the French revolution and the Renaissance.
I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Computer Science so that leave me with little time to read history so for I now I am just expanding my 'To-Read' collection.
Apologies for the long introduction
TL;DR I love history
Hi My name is Linda Lee Greene. Reading is one of my passions, and although I enjoy many genres, history is a favorite. In particular, I enjoy movies and books about WWII. My favorite historical figures are FDR and Churchill. I also study Native American history. I look forward to reading the posts of my fellow history buffs. reply | flag *

Hi everyone! I'm Anusha from India. I am in school and in my early teens. I absolutely adore history and also do a lot of research on it during my holidays. I am particularly interested in ancient history. I also like to visit heritage monuments and see the beautiful architecture of the time. History has by far been my favourite subject (though Maths follows closely) but I couldn't find many people interested in it at school so I am really happy to have joined this group. Look forward to reading with all of you!

Hello Everyone. My name is Joyce Himmel and I LOVE history. I am originally from Maryland but raised my family in Southwest Florida. I retired from the Lee County Library System in 2014 and moved with my husband to South Carolina, a state full of history :). I recently went back to work part time at the Lexington County Library which I am so excited about. I am at home among the stacks! I read a lot of different genres due to my work but my favorite is a good history story. I can't wait to hear about all the books you have read and what you think about them. Let's get reading!!!!
A warm welcome to you, Richard and best wishes on your continuing education. As a lover of history you will be very comfortable here with the rest of us history buffs! You might want to visit our home page to find topics which may be of interest to you.

Hi my name is Liz. I love, love, love to read. I am a big fan of European royal history, US history and US presidents. I joined this group because I have recently begun exercising again (yoga and cycling) and I thought it was time to exercise my mind. I can't wait to start reading with all of you.
Hi my name is Liz and I live in the San Francisco Bay area, but I am originally from Philadelphia. I love, love, love to read. My favorite topics are European Royal history, US history and US Presidents. I recently started exercising my body again (yoga and cycling) and I thought it was time to start exercising my mind again. I am excited to get started.
Hello,I'm Tara. I'm terrible at introductions (and goodbyes) but here goes nothing. I love reading History and non fiction mainly. My interests are all over the map. Right now I am reading about Marx and Engels AND I'm reading Under The Black Flag (again), but I have books about Charlemagne, Lenin's Embalmers and H.H. Holmes in the wings. I'm going to be starting grad school in History in less than a year. Everyone asks me what I want to do with my degree, since I am planning later on to pursue my doctorate, and I usually say I just want to research what I'm interested in... I joke and say "I just want to be on The History Channel and maybe Shark Week." I'm also working on my advanced diving certification and want to focus on wreck dives and photography. OK that's me!
Hello all,My name is Sergio and am a EMT by trade. I enjoy reading history but more specifically American, military, medical history to name a few. Look forward to joining the discussions as my schedule sees fit.
Hey everyone! My name's Mohamed. I'm Egyptian but at the moment I'm studying at Bristol in the UK. I'm extremely interested in middle eastern, economic and communist history :D
Hello everyone...My name is Lidiana and I am a languages and literature teacher from Brazil. I found this group through my Goodreads timeline and it fits like a glove my desire to read more non-fiction.
I think it will take me some time to get acquainted to everything that goes on in here, but I am very excited to join.

Hi! My name's Lelia, and I'm a high school student on the west coast of Canada. I thought I would join this group because I feel like I need to read more about the world, I don't know nearly enough. Plus, everyone could use a bit of enrichment to supplement their education, right?
I probably won't comment or discuss much in the threads, but believe me, I will be reading and adding many books to my 'to-read' lists, so that some day I can say I have read something on every subject.
I'm especially interested in Celtic and Norse history so I can't wait to see what books are recommended there.
Thank you!
Lelia :)
Leila, we do hope you comment and discuss books we are reading together and other topics on the threads. Do not be shy.

This is how books that you mention should look:
