How about trying a NON-fiction approach?! (You will like it.) The group should check out "WE'RE CRAZY!, A Memoir about U.S. Values" here on Goodreads, to discover enough discussion material for at least a year. It is a guidebook for our children and grandchildren, to make sure they understand the mess the seniors are leaving them. Getting back on track is going to require clearer thinking about values than their parents have had. After a list of many of the questions that the book addresses in depth, the summary is, "Why compare your own answers with those in the book? Because the future of our nation depends on our values about these very subjects."

The "WE'RE CRAZY!" description directs readers to reading samples and to an extensive bibliography that is an education in itself. This is the book for those who want to think about where we are headed and what is important.

I'm new at this and assumed people would type that info in at the top of the page. If there is a better procedure (which there apparently is), please let me know. Thanks! Bert
