Even I don't want to, but I hate giving up. :-( With a lot of self-motivation, I have completed Sunday's chapter and I'm halfway up Monday's chapter. And here, I don't mean today, but last Sunday.

Alright it's official: I'm not picking this up again anytime soon. Maybe next month, maybe the month after, but not this month.
Vicki, I think that DNF means "do/ did not finish". Actually, the sections were too long that they were taking all our time. And, we had other books to read, too. Although I hate giving up on books, but we just couldn't pick this one up. :-(
Chapters too long, font too small, book too long, too many other books to read, too many confusing relationships within the book, too many characters, couldn't remember who said what to who and who everyone is. Also got exams and friends over sometimes and just yeah took too much of my time away from other books. I got to page 350 which I thought was an accomplishment but then I looked at the rest of the book, and it looked like I haven't even started. Rather disheartening, I must say. Don't wanna have to re-read the first 350 pages later on though, so when I pick it up again I hope I still remember what's happened.I mean, certain parts were good, and it was just starting to get good, but I just can't be bothered.
I get it, but I think if/when you finish it you'll like it. It's definitely a big book but it does get better and better. Good luck!
Ah alright. Thanks. Yeah, the tv show was good when I watched it, but the book's just rather confusing.
I still have no inclination to pick this up. I think I could still remember what happened if I pick it up later though. I'm looking at it on my shelf, and I'm quite proud of how much I've managed to read. I hope I don't fully give up on it. I won't read it for probably another month and a half though.
Same here. I want to read it sometime before I forget bits of the plot and the names of the numerous characters that are mentioned. Perhaps I'll try to pick it up sometime in the beginning of 2016.
Yeah me too haha. Maybe we could schedule another date to start again from where we're up to a chapter a day? What chapter you at now? If you're ahead I'll try and catch up.
Yes, rescheduling this is a good idea.Actually, you are one chapter ahead of me. So, I need to do the catching up.
Oh good :p That makes me feel good haha. Just please don't go past me or I'll feel obligated to pick it back up and it'll annoy me.So can we start again January?
No worries. I won't go past you. :D
Yes, January works. My reading schedule for November and December is already too packed. So, it's a relief that you suggested January.
I've had this book for awhile, & I feel bad because I always say that I'll read it, but still haven't picked it up Dx
Feel free to join us, Matty! But Drishti and I have already started it and we're about 35% through. We're reading a chapter a day again from January sometime.
Yes! January 12 works. You're most welcome to join us, Matty. There are nearly two months till January 12. I think you'd be able to catch up. :D
I'm so sorry that I didn't keep my word on this. I had over-scheduled myself this month. I don't think I would have time to read this in February too. I have exams coming up. But, if you guys wish to read it in March, I'll happily join you.
:p Tbh I totally forgot about this 100%. I did not start reading it, and I actually have no inclination to continue it. But because I'm already 350 pages in, and that's quite an effort, I may as well finish it. Just no clue when haha. I also massively overbooked myself. I'm still reading buddy reads from December, and my summer holidays are almost finished. So that's not too good. When I get up to it though, which'll be a few months, I'll get back to a chapter a day I hope... *fingers crossed* At least I haven't set myself a start date yet. That just always leads to failure.
Maddison, if you have any inclination to re-start this, please PM me or post on this thread. I don't feel like giving it up because as you said, bring 350 pages into this book is a great achievement. BTW I hope you get through your December buddy reads. I'm actually glad that you are so committed to your BRs. I hate it when people don't show up.
But it's annoying when I sign up and then I get so far behind. But yeah, it motivates me. And I will want to continue with this. Just got no idea at all when. Probably be another few months.

Maddison wrote: "Haha how's this going? :p"I think we're coming back to this in a few years, right? :p
Haha yeah, if we set a date then I'll just dread the start and know I won't be able to do it :pBut when we do start back up it'll be a chapter a day?
Oh gosh considering I'll be in the monthly challenges when I pick this back up that means I won't be able to count this because I won't be restarting it! And there's no way I want to re-start what I've already read.......... Oh gosh that's a big problem.

We used to do a chapter a day. But then, the chapters became really long, so it became very hard. So how about we do a chapter every two or three days? I know it'll take a lot of time this way. But I think it'll make the length bearable. So what say?
Oh, God. I never thought of that. I guess, we won't be able to use it for a monthly challenge. Plus even if we restart it for a monthly challenge, there's no way we'll be able to read the whole book in one month... because we'll have other books to read too, won't we?
Yeah and my patience isn't that thick :pBut yeah, a chapter every three days probably, knowing that I won't even be motivated to read that haha. Why do we do this to ourselves? Make ourselves read a loooonnng book we don't even want to read.

I'm sort of intrigued to know how this book will end. The dome concept really pulls me in. But, the amount of unnecessary rambling King does and the length of the book is a put off! I still want to read this book, though! But if you think that it's not your cup of tea, then you can DNF it. I'll totally understand! :)
Nooooo! I just felt really sad and disappointed in myself when you mentioned DNFing it. I do not want to DNF it! I can't DNF books haha. I need to get to the end eventually. And I do want to finish this. It's not a good impression though. This is my first book of his that I've read and I was planning on reading more, but if they're all like this, because they're all rather long, I'm not sure I want to.

It's my first Stephen King book too! But I think I'll eventually read his other books too. His ideas are so my type! :p
