My tip:
Keep a journal with you wherever you go so that you have somewhere to write whatever pops into your head, lot of times ill have an idea but by the time I get home I've forgotten it, this helps to keep your ideas so that you can write

Also just take out a computer and start writing. Ignore editing, just write for about an hour. Do that a few times a week and then at the end I the week go few and edit it.

If you are angry, your book might go from a girl who is going out on her first date or something to a girl who just ruined her date by starting an argument with the guy or something like that. If you're sad, then your character might have a random and uncharacteristic mental breakdown.
