Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments Name: Danju Birchbark

Age: 22

Species: Werewolf

Powers (if they have any): Standard Werewolf abilities, Color changing fur camouflage

Weapons: Steel short sword (in human form), claws and fangs (in wolf form)

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Birthday: 9/20

Personality: Danju is very anti-social and can be very socially awkward. This is mainly because of his nomadic lifestyle and loss of his other pack mates, and overall interaction with domestic beings. Definitely a lone wolf. He absolutely despises conflicts, and will almost always choose flight over fight. When he does make close friends though, he is very loyal to and protective of them.

History: When Danju was around 15, he was separated from the rest of his pack in a feud with human hunters. The pack alpha was taken captive, so the entire pack stormed their stronghold. The attack was a complete failure, and Danju was only able to make it out due to his uncanny camouflage skills. Ever since then, he has been living out of a backpack trying to find any survivors in the woods. He learned how to survive on his own, and became very anti-social. He almost could be considered a hermit. Over the years he has found nothing, but thinks he may be close to another trail to their where abouts. He is also searching for a place he may be able to stay long term, like the haven.

Likes: Hiking, philosophy, meditation, animal communication, solving practical problems, Exploring.

Dislikes: Socializing with mythics/humans, being noticed, conflict, Hunters.

Strengths: Stealth, camouflage, survival skills, tracking, animal communication

Weaknesses: Socializing, combat, working with a group

Appearance: http://media.wizards.com/images/magic...

Other: Fears he may be the last member of his original pack, is almost always in his wolf form. Good at infiltration and surveillance due to his stealth and survival skills. Has a scar on side of his face from where a hunter cut him in the fight. Usually wears deep hood.

History: Fukayna was born 3100 B.C. The time of Ancient Egypt, and was entrusted with the Scarab ring of King tut. She keeps it on a gold chain so that she will never lose it. The ring was given to her by king tut himself before he died. She had been put in charge of raising and caring for king tut, he had become somewhat of a son to her and when he died she was devastated. She couldn't stay in Egypt any longer so she left and wandered around the world not staying in one place for too long. Until she found the Haven, there were so many strange people there, so she decided to stay for a while.

Age: 17

Sexuality: Straight

Powers: Telekinesis

Weapons: Spear (as shown in photo)

Species: Elf

Appearance:

Birthday: August 7th

Gender: Female

Personality: Cassy is a very confusing character. She can be nice and mean, shy and loud. Really it depends on how the other person is treating her. She is usually a very happy and nice person, just don't get on her bad side and you should be fine. She doesn't like to be told what to do and won't listen to some people sometimes if you get her mad.

History: She was not born in the Haven, but she has lived in it since she was five. Most people in the Haven know her. She doesn't know who her birth parents, but she doesn't really mind. She has a perfect family. One mother who is always there to help her, one wonderful father and two older brothers who love her to pieces! She loves being with her family. Before she entered the Haven she was an outcast. She hopped from foster family to foster family until one day, while her 'parents' were out of the Haven they found her and quickly recognized her as an elf. They brought her to the Haven. Then they got her a pet laelap named Couniply

Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments I will be roleplaying as Danju the Werewolf. He appears to be in his early to mid 20's and is extremely introverted. He has dedicated his life to seeking out and finding his former pack, by any means necessary. Even if it means living out of a backpack, and frequently traveling to the human lands. He spends most of his time in his wolf form, which has the ability to change fur color, similar to a chameleon. He specializes in stealth, survival, and survalence. Typical job of the common rouge in DnD.

Jeff, I would be fine in assisting your character.

Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments The Binding Mythos RP Start (Finally)
***

All was quiet early that morning. The sun slowly rose from the sky, causing the shadows of night to retreat, and the temperature slowly went up. Danju had always liked watching the sunrise, but he never really wrapped himself in the symbolism of it until that day when he was sitting under a white pine tree outside the Wyvern Tail Pub, waiting for it to open for the day. It was a small establishment, and didn't see a lot of attention because of its location, nearly outside the haven all together. The only people that really ever went that far out were lost wanderers, people with shady business, or those who isolated themselves from the rest of the haven. He fit into all three categories. Danju reached into his travel backpack and produced the letter that was his business at this establishment, a letter that he had received two days before. It was from an anonymous source that requested a favor from him, and in return he would receive information to the whereabouts of his wolf pack, his family. The envelope had small writing in the corner, a fraction, 3/10. He had no idea what it meant, but he assumed that he probably wasn't the only person who received one. What this mysterious beneficiary promised the others, he could only guess. His train of thought ended as he heard the door open, and regular townsfolk start to shuffle in. Now was as good a time as any. He slowly got up and walked into the pub.

Inside, there were about half a dozen regular haveners, a barkeeper, a couple waitresses, and himself. He walked over to the man running the bar and asked him, "Do you know where I can meet someone in regards to a "Small Errand" he asked him while sliding the envelope across the table. The barkeeper wasn't surprised to see it, but he did look around cautiously. "I'm afraid your early, the organizer hasn't arrived yet. I suggest waiting at one of the tables for the others to arrive. And take your hood down, people will think your up to something." Danju had grown so accustom to having his hood cover his face, that he forgot he was wearing it. He uncovered his head as requested, revealing a long slash like scar on the side of his face. He didn't thank, or even acnolege that the bartender said anything to him. He just picked up the envelope, and sat down at one of the booths, wondering what he had got himself into. He could turn back now and leave, but he decided it would be worth it to get that information. He had devoted his entire life to finding them after all.

((I don't expect your posts to be this long guys, I just wanted to go into detail on explaining my character and setting. BTW, this RP is going to take a looooooonnnnng time because of how many people we have, and everyone's schedules. I expect it to cycle through completely in about 24 hours, that is if everyone participates.))

Name: Marcus "Marc" Thompson
Age:14
Gender: Male
Species: Human...almost
Occupation: Hunter
Appearance: Messy, dirty blond hair, 5'9, startlingly piercing chameleon eyes
History: When he was a young boy, before he knew about magic and the haven, a wizard, a fairy, and a centaur trying to escape the hunters and get to the haven, (accidentally) destroyed his house his and killed his parents. Later, when the hunters found him, he was so young and traumatized, he was just sitting there muttering to himself, "I'll kill them. I'll kill all those stupid, murdering, magical murderers." Just what they were looking for. He's been training with them ever since.
Personality: He's actually a pretty nice guy, witty and sarcastic, but he doesn't view the inhabitants of the haven as living beings with feelings as acute as a human's. That' starting to change though. He's befriending one of them- but hasn't mentioned he's a human. Speaking of which, is he really? Why did the creatures even come near his parents? Why are really strange things happening to him?
(Note: He decided to blend in with the gang of mythics. They don't know he's really a Hunter-yet.)

As night began to settle, the sun began stretching her gorgeous fingertips over the valley. As soon as the light touched Haku's room, he had already hopped out of bed, and stood, hovering over the calendar. With a blood red marker, he circled the day, a small grin on his face. Another day bites the dust, he thought while picking up the letter which contained the time and location he was assigned to go. His smile faded as his fingers crept towards the seal. For the millionth time, he opened the envelope and pulled the letter out reading it once again. He'd memorized the letter ages ago but reading those simple words always brought an exhilarating chill to him causing him to shiver. Stuffing the note into his pocket, he picked up another crumpled piece of paper. In the photo, a young girl sat, her smile as bright as the sun shining outside and her blonde hair lay properly on her shoulders. He was doing this all for her, his beautiful little sister. In completing this, he was promised medicine that could possibly cure her fatal sickness. Haku gave the picture a quick peck before folding it up and putting it in his other pocket. He didn't care if he didn't have one clue about who sent it or what he was doing, as long as he could attempt to save her, or die trying.

The ground was still sprinkled with dew as Haku walked through the grass, the misty air stinging his face, before stopping right in front of a small bar. He stared at the building before pushing on the heavy door. He walked inside slowly and cautiously, observing the nearly empty room. Haku spun into a chair while slapping the envelope onto the bronze desk. After receiving very little information about what he was doing, he was told to sit and wait. More waiting. He ordered a drink before stuffing the letter back in his pocket, and plopping down in an empty seat. He'd wait for the rest of his life as long as he got the medicine.

Fukayna looked in the mirror one last time before picking her bag up off the bed and heading out the door. As she left she pulled out the letter from her bag. She had read it at least a hundred times but still had to double check the address. Did who ever sent this really want to meat at a Pub? Fukayna had originally thought that they would be meeting in private, but it really didn't matter to her if others were around or not. As she entered the Pub she hoped she wasn't too early, she didn't want to wait too long. She walked up to the bar tender and showed him the letter. "I am looking for the person who sent this, do You know if they are here?" the bar tender looked at the letter and shook his head. "The organizer isn't here yet. You can take a set and wait for the others to arrive." "Alright. Thank you." She said as she walked away from the bar and went to sit at a table in the corner of the room. As she sat she thought about what had been promised to her in the letter. A few years ago Archaeologists found her sons tomb. They had taken almost every thing out of the tomb including her son. The letter promised that the writer would give her everything back that was taken so she could re-bury him someplace no one would ever find him again.

Philippa | 161 comments His name was Calder - No, not Calder, he'd abandoned that name eons ago, when the shadows had crept into his eyes and when his heart sacrificed itself. Fiöl. His name was Fiöl. Which, incidentally, was a name he hated, because it was the name of his father, and the name of his family. Well. When one has been alive forever, one loses one's grasp of petty human emotion.

That's what he told himself, everyday.

Fiöl swung his long, luminous legs over the side of the bed and sighed, placing his head in his hands. Peeking through his fingers, he spied that letter on the floor - that letter, that piece of paper that had made him feel ALIVE again, albeit briefly - and growled at it. Fixing his eyes on it, it slowly became consumed by twisting shadows and disappeared.

Probably to that disgusting ochre chest of drawers this pitiful inn had provided him with.

He sauntered over to the murky mirror that sat in the corner. Cobwebs hung from it's frame. He looked into it, gazing, staring, trying to shoot lasers into his very own soul. All he saw was an ancient boy with deadly eyes and long silver locks and a coat of invisible scars. An ancient boy who plastered a convincing smile on his face to see if he could still manage it. An ancient boy with thousands of shadows looming behind him.

He threw the mirror across the room, and left the revolting suite.

He was walking, but he was running inside. He was screaming at the pavement with his pounding feet. He was running inside. Always running.

Then he alighted upon a pub. The Wyvern's Tail. He paused. Ugh, wyverns. They were so utterly annoying, especially when one tried to mount them. He smiled a humourless smile. He searched inside himself for a spark. There was nothing, and he was pleased. It was better to feel nothing. He believed that, at least.

Fiöl gathered up his magic, his witticisms, his troves of knowledge. Fiöl mixed them together and produced a smirk. An extremely mysterious and misleading smirk, that reached his oddly coloured eyes and tainted them with a sparkle. Then he walked into the pub.

Alan | 1172 comments Lint sighed softly as he flied around in the evening sky, glancing at the sunset from time to time. It had been another one of these nothing-to-do, I'm-going-to-die-of-boredom days, and he hoped something, anything, will happen. And just as he was thinking about what possibly could make that day even more annoying, he felt a sudden movement behind him. The thing that moved probably knew its destination pretty good, because that same destination just began to curse as it was falling down toward the ocean just beneath him. "That's the third time already in two weeks!", Lint complained, taking hold of the strange envelope and getting stable again. "I swear to god, if it's another one of these 'Get your finest tail equipment here!' I'm gonna take this letter and..." He suddenly stopped when he noticed it was actually a pretty envelope with small writings on it. "Well that's unusual" he mumbled as he opened the envelope and read the letter.

"So, that's the place that stupid letter talked about, huh?" he said to himself as he slowly approached the pub. "This place sure isn't on my top-million places to eat in, but whatever". He opened the pub's door and got himself a table, needless of chairs. He placed the open envelope with the letter on the table, and waited.

LJF | 260 comments Marcus walked into the bar. The letter had promised that all he needed to do was go to the bar, and he'd be able to blend in with a group of mythics. When the time was right, he'd reveal himself and capture them. Then he'd be a true Hunter.
He'd already seen five of them come in. He didn't drink, and he knew better than to drink something given by one of those things, but for the sake of appearances, he pretended to nurse his drink. He'd spilled it into the plant, though, of course.
He wondered if any others were coming.

He's happy that we've organized it and everything, but he feels that we don't need him anymore. Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments The bartender slid a piece of paper out of his pocket and reviewed it. It was a list of everyone who received an invitation and their descriptions. One by one he identified each of the people, except one. Then he heard a noise outside and realized that was the last person, trying to kill some kind of rodent. He walked over to each person and handed them a slip of paper, each reading, "Meet me in the back room in approximately 5 minutes. Be inconspicuous about it, and don't all go in at once." Danju rolled his eyes ant the paper and shoved it into his pocket. He then walked outside the pub and transformed into his wolf form. His matted fur turned invisible around him, and he quietly walked into the backroom before he was supposed to, not being noticed by anyone visually. Once inside, he saw the bartender was shuffling papers around on the table, before going to a side counter and preparing what looked like beverages for everyone. Danju quietly crept under the table, still remaining invisible, and quietly waited fro everyone else to arrive.

Haku's eyes searched the room, his head resting in the palm as his hand as he attempted to identify who else had gotten the message but everyone else seemed to be absorbed in their own peculiar business. He was looking behind his booth when the bartender walked up to the seat, holding a piece of paper in his hand. After handing the slip of paper to Haku, he walked off as if nothing had happened. Well, nothing had happened he supposed. He read the piece of paper before tearing it up, his hysterical grin creeping back on his face. He took a quick peek checking to see if anyone else was getting up before standing. Maybe he was the only one that had gotten the letter. He'd seen only one other person get up, and that was to leave. He downed the last of his drink before walking away from the booth and putting the glass back on the counter, casually picking up a cleaning rag and swinging it on his shoulder as if he worked there before walking towards the "employees" door. That'd been the least perceptible thing he'd thought of. He whistled a light tune as he grasped the doorknob, pulling the door shut.

The room felt as if it were somehow not attached to the bar. A cold breeze filled the room mixing with the delicious aroma of food. No one else was in the room as he leaned against the table that was centered in the room.

((*shrugs* Sorry, it's not a lot. Whoever's next.))

Fukayna sighed as she looked at the slip of paper the bar tender had given her, "More waiting, great." She mumbled sarcastically. After waiting three or four minutes, she stood up to impatient to wait any longer. She walked to the back room not really caring if anyone noticed her. She opened the door and stepped in. She looked around the room as she shut the door behind her. She only noticed one other person in the room. She didn't pay him much attention since she assumed he worked here. She move out of the way of the door and went to the farthest wall, she leaned against it as she waited for the others.

Philippa | 161 comments Fiöl screwed up his face in disgust. The wine here was revolting. Too sour and still, like the atmosphere of the pub. He glanced around, and immediately wished that he hadn't. The decor here was absolutely repugnant, too. He stared down into his cheap drink, and wondered if the music could get anymore wheedlingly terrible.

Suddenly, his pale, pointed ears perked up, catching a ever-so-slender vibration in the ether. A (grimy) door, swinging shut. His eyes darted to said door, to see a long, golden tail whisking through to the room beyond. The back room. 'Interesting', Fiöl thought. 'Here I thought sphinxes were dead.' His curiosity peaked. The nökken fluidly stood up and threw his wine glass to the floor, sparking the brief interest of his neighbouring alcoholics and the indignation of the bartender. With an entropic smirk, he stalked elegantly to the door and swung it open, curious to meet whoever was beyond.

His queer eyes alighted upon the form of the strangely beautiful sphinx pressed against a wall and a seemingly seraphic young man, leaning against a table. He gifted both the dragon and the sphinx with an enigmatic smile, one that told of the dangers of sinking into shadow. Incongruously, he gathered up his tenebrous coat and settled down in the middle of the room, on the floor. Yet- what was that?

A wolf, shrouded with 'invisibility', crouched under a (dirty) table. So, a werewolf, then. He smiled at the creature, then let himself be immersed by thought. A sphinx, a werewolf and a dragon, so far. 'And they say myths aren't real,' he laughed internally.

Alan | 1172 comments Lint looked around the room, sighing softly. The place wasn't much, so he could tell. Just a normal hey-let's-get-drunk-for-no-reason place. And just as he was about to stand up ((I don't even have legs to sit, idiot!)) he got a certain piece of paper, from a strange guy. He read it once, twice, a third time just to be sure. just what I needed, more letters, he thought. He looked around him slowly, paying attention to who already went inside the back room. After seeing a few were already absent, he made his way toward the door. He entered the room slowly and eyed his surroundings. Oh great... three's a crowd.

LJF | 260 comments Marc didn't believe this, the letter said he'd been poisoned, but he hadn't touched a drink. That meant he was safe- but the mythics weren't, He guessed it was time to find them. He looked around, and he saw the others had gotten the same letter. He felt like laughing, but he didn't. If they died, he couldn't prove he'd captured them. He needed to bring them in alive- and that meant he'd have to get the cure. Besides, this quest sounded fun.

Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments Danju silently crawled out from under the table and walked out of the pub while invisible. Outside, he transformed, walked back in the room and sat down. He needed to make sure this wasn't going to be an ambush before stepping in visibly. He looked around the room at the different people in the room. There was the bartender who was diligently preparing drinks and paperwork at a side counter, a sphinx, a water spirit, a weird human and bird hybrid, and three other humanoids. None of them immediately tried to kill him, so he guessed that was a good sign. Carefully he pulled up a chair and sat down.

"Ok, thank you all for coming on such short notice." The bartender replied as he walked around the room with a tray full of drinks. He handed one out to everyone. Each was a light blue liquid in a shot glass. When he was done passing out drinks, he sat down and pulled out an envelope. "Unfortunately your beneficiary could not make it to this gathering, so he asked me to inform you about your mission." He opened the envelope and read it aloud. "My dearest friends. I have gathered you here today to embark on a dangerous quest. Each of you were hand selected to work together as a unit to complete this mission because of your impressive abilities and skills. In return for your services, I offered each of you a reward, which is explained in each of your letters. If you wish to take up this quest, please drink the elixir that has been given to you and read the original letter that I sent to you. It is a sight enhancing potion that will allow you to see the invisible markings on each paper. No spell or natural ability will allow you to see it, only these specific potions. The hidden message will give you a complete overview of your mission, from location, to what you actually have to do. The reason for all of the secrecy is because I have many enemies who would love to get their hands on this information, and I can't take that risk. Be warned. This is an extremely dangerous task. If you do not wish to risk your lives to achieve greatness and receive what you desire most, then you may back down now. Yours truly, EN." The bartender folded up the envelope and looked at them expectantly.

Danju looked at the glass and his letter for a moment, trying to make a decision. This was the first actual lead to where his family was since he had been separated from them that night, but was he really up for this. The means by which this quest was brought about seemed awfully suspicious. He picked up the glass and examined it. Nothing about it looked overly remarkable, it didn't radiate magic or any type of aura from what he could tell. But still he didn't trust anything. He placed his glass on the table and began to leave. He had his hand on the doorknob, trying to make this impossible decision. Should he risk his life for the information he had dedicated his entire life to finding. He sighed and sat back down, picking up the glass and drinking its contents.

He picked up his letter and sure enough, a message that was previously invisible appeared before his eyes. "You will travel to The Valley of Death, on the north west corner of the haven, directly north of the Cursed Meadows. There you will slay the ancient dragon, Xterra The Brutal. He is a terror to the country side, and permits anyone from passing through that area. Then I will need exactly two bottles full of the dragon's blood, and the dragon's heart. The Vally of death is a dangerous place, full of festering and mutated beasts for its uninhabitable ecosystem. If you manage to survive with the dragon's blood and heart, meet me personally at my outpost in the center of the elm forest, where I will give you the antidote to the poison you just drank. Don't worry, It won't kill you immediately, it'll take a month to fully take affect. It is a specially made potion for each of your species and you will never find the cure for it without my guidance. If you successfully return the dragon's blood and heart to me within the month, I will spare your life and give you your reward. Good luck. EN."

Haku squirmed nervously, his body suddenly full off exhilarated energy as the bartender spoke assiduously. Seven more bodies filled the room, yet six people in the room were just like him. Six people that would get their values. Six people that had gotten the letter in utter confusion. Slightly disappointed to hear that the writer of the letter wasn't here to greet them personally, he listened to the bartender's soft voice. The translucent liquid that he'd been given was mesmerizing, causing his fingers to twitch ever so slightly just to pick it up and gulp it down.

Unfolding the letter, he attempted to look for the slightest sign of 'invisible' ink. Rolling his eyes at the writing, he held the glass to his lips, consuming it slowly. A bitter aftertaste lingered in Haku's mouth, that struck the nature of any ordinary drink. Nothing felt strange, and the usual intoxicated feeling he had after a drink was absent. With a shrug, he read the letter once again yet this time, darker ink filled the once empty space. Haku took a second to admire the unique use of magic before reading on, a small grin on his face.

Haku jumped from his chair the paper floating onto the table. An incredulous look was written on his face as his hands balled into a fist. "Death?" He yelled at the bartender with a clenched jaw, more confused than he was frustrated. He grabbed the letter, reading the paragraph over and over, a disbelieving look darkening his eyes. Killing his own species was bad enough, but this? Warnings of death weren't written in the previous letter.

((Hopefully I'll even be able to answer next week, mid-terms.))

Fukayna watched everyone who entered the room carefully, she hoped that at least one of them was the writer of the letter. She listened to the bar tender intently as he read from the paper. She was slightly disappointed that the person who had written the letters was not there. But after seeing how many people were here, if she were them she wouldn't have come either.

She took the glass the bar tender had offered her and looked down at the blue liquid suspiciously. There was definitely something wrong with the drinks they were given. There had to be some kind of insurance policy in place here, the drinks were probably laced with something to insure that they would do what the writer wanted. She hesitated but decided to drink the blue liquid despite her suspicions. She took the letter out of her bag and read over it once more. Sure enough there was new writing scrawled across the page and just like she thought the word poison was written towards the bottom of the page. With a sigh she folded up the letter and put it back in her bag.

Philippa | 161 comments Fiöl stared at the bartender, thinking of all the consequences that may be reaped by this one potion. Mythics... A valley of cessation... Of mutation... It was all very poetic.

Something - someone - wanted them all together.

Something - someone - wanted to trap them. How better to kill mythic than in irony.

Then Fiöl thought of all the power he would gain with whatever mystery reward he was sure to receive.

He smiled foxily, and downed the potion.

Alan | 1172 comments Lint smirked as he read the letter slowly and carefully. He read it again. I see how it's going to be... he thought to himself, this guy just can't ask us nicely, can he? Let it be his way. Let the hunt begin. He placed the piece of paper on the table, looking around him slowly, trying to see the other people's reactions. He didn't expect anything to be easy, nor did he thought that EN would really meet them personalty. Actually, if it was him, that was pretty much the way he would do it. Give all the work to others, with an offer they can't refuse. The only thing he was worried about was the prize... Surprise me, He thought.

LJF | 260 comments This was interesting. Marc noted that none of the others seemed worried about the fact that they might die. That meant they didn't mind losing their lives if it it meant they might get their wish. No- it meant that if they couldn't get it, they wanted to die- their lives were worthless without it.
Strange, he thought, I wouldn't have thought those monsters could feel so strongly. You learn something new every day, I guess.

Rudd (Taco Chimera)Φ | 677 comments The bartender gave the instructions and materials to the newcomer. Danju got up and walked up to the bartender. "You made these potions right, tell us what was in them if you want to live." Danju told them. The bartender looked him up and down. "You seem a bit scrawny to be threatening me." "Well, I may not do anything to you, but there's a bunch of other haveners here that would rip you apart in an instant. Now, I suggest you tell us what the poison was." The bartender opened his mouth to say something, until his lower jaw detached from his body and fell on the ground. As it hit the ground, it broke like a piece of pottery into clay fragments. The rest of the bartender's body started to break apart into sediment right before their eyes. In the pile of dust with an apron on top of it, there was a lit bomb that was quickly running out of fuse.

Haku stared at the bartender, an incredulous yet disgusted look on his face as the bartender slowly began to dematerialized in from of them. With distorted senses from the vexation that still boiled inside of him, he hardly noticed the smell of dusty smoke that began to fill the room. Had he looked down at that precise moment, perhaps he could have had seconds to spare but when Haku finally noticed the bomb his legs were moving before he could comprehend the situation. And while he was moving swiftly out of the room, he hadn't seemed to notice the picture of his little sister floating out of his pocket.
