I have discovered that Under a Dark Star has become a finalist in the eFestival of Words held by Bards and Sages Publishing. I had never heard of it and, initially, I did not know who had nominated my book. After checking it out, I find it's an OK place to be!I don’t have a vast army of Twitter or Facebook followers – I don’t even belong! If you would like to vote for Under a Dark Star (Best Historical Fiction) you can probably imagine how pleased I’d be :)
Here’s a link to the voting form:
https://bardsandsages.com/efestivalof...
I haven't a hope of competing with those who have armies of followers but I'd like to get at least some votes!
Thank you to those who take the time to vote.
Delighted to be able to vote for Under a Dark Star, Anna. I hope you win, but what a wonderful surprise and great for promotion.
Thank you all, so much.Every bit of publicity/visibility helps - as we all know - and darned hard to get.
Excuse me, must go, I have a begging bowl to hold out :)
I think I'm going to be all of a quiver this Sunday afternoon because I am doing my very first live Q&A session in connection with the Bards and Sages efestival ( you know - the one where Under a Dark Star is a finalist). I've never been that before either.I am hoping I can actually get myself into the chat room at the right time.!
If anyone would like to support a British author (me!) then please feel free to come and say hello at
https://bardsandsages.com/efestivalof...
this Sunday at 3.30 p.m. and I'll endeavour to sound sane.
Anyone who'd like to vote might still have time if you go to that link and then there's another link to vote. Chat rooms are on the right of that page, I think...
I am surprised and delighted to tell you that Under a Dark Star has just been declared the winner in the Best Historical Fiction category in the Bards and Sages 2018 eFestival of Words.Thank you to all those who've helped and cheered it on its way.
Thanks, Kath. I started out to think it was not my strongest book - the time travel one sells most. Then as time went by, I grew to like UADS more and now, well...
Oh! Elephants! Again! How I've missed them. They packed their trunks to go visiting some newcomers and I haven't seen them since. Just a minute... are they laughing?
In that case I must look around and see if I have any fruit to give them. I wonder if they like oranges... Or they could share a melon.

Anyway, away with the elephants, and I'll tiptoe round their little messages to add my congratulations!
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Ele pic"This is the one who got fed the melon. Oh the tragedy of not sharing one's good fortune.
My thanks to you all - David, Benjamin, Rita, Jim, Gingerlily and Kath (again).Don't forget - this is a competition where you have to be nominated, so you could put it in your diaries to nominate one of our authors in late Feb or March. Fly the flag!
My good fortune is down to someone else nominating UADS - I'd never even heard of Bards and Sages. (Good name, don't you think?)
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Would a melon collie be better?"No, no, no. Josh is most unhappy with your suggestion and grinning at the elephant.
