Episode 45 of the Creative Writer’s Toolbelt is an interview with the freelance editor, script doctor, and literary agent Julie Crisp. Julie has over fifteen years’ experience working for three major houses across a broad spectrum of commercial titles within fiction, non-fiction and children’s. Most recently she headed up the UK arm of one of the largest global brands of science fiction and fantasy, Tor. She has worked with bestselling and award-winning authors such as Ann Cleeves, Peter F. Hamilton, China Miéville, Neal Asher, Amanda Hocking, and Naomi Novik. This is another 'must listen' interview for anyone who wants advice from an experienced professional about what catches the editor's eye, what sells, and how to give yourself the best chance of getting your work noticed.

Rae Kenny-Rife (raenforest) | 20 comments Andy, I loved this episode. I fit right into the newbie don't doobie issue of overwriting and too many ideas. Also liked what she had to say about show don't tell since that will likely always be my greatest challenge. I've found one or two sentences of showing followed by dialogue are my go to fix. Very glad to hear her say that's,a good way to mix showing and telling.
