He nodded. "So did I. It's not... it's not our fault." he held back tears of his own.

The man laughed.
He closed his eyes and clenched his fists. "Yeah... I think so. But you didn't know. It's okay. It's not your fault," he said quietly to her. Then he stood, and he ran at the man, leaping at him and punching him with all he had. "It's yours!" he hissed. "You and all who run this!"
Sean winced as he landed on the hard ground, but he got up again. "What the hell is wrong with you people?" he shouted. "You like this! How can you?"
Sean glared at him, tears of anger in his eyes. "Try what? Try to make you feel the pain that you cause others to feel? Yeah, I'm trying. Want me to try harder?"
"Whatever." Sean came at him again.
Sean bounced off of it and cursed. He stood again, panting, and looked at his sister. He sighed as he realized that this was not going to get him anywhere.
Sean didn't move. "No..." he whispered. "It's no use."
((He's at the breaking point, you know? Gosh... he didn't go through this much in my novel.))
Sean shrugged and sat down. "What can I do? Nothing."
Sean shrugged and sat down. "What can I do? Nothing."

Shadow sighed and just then the man made his move, pinning her to the wall, not even moving.
((Yeah...))
"Hey! Let her down!" Sean cried, standing.
"Hey! Let her down!" Sean cried, standing.
Sean looked at Shadow helplessly. "I'm sorry..."

Gwen was back in the room with Jack and she laughed.
Sean looked from Shadow to the man, then back, desperately. He closed his eyes and shook his head. "No..." He opened his eyes again and they were burning with rage. "Let her down, now," he said quietly.
Jack sat back to watch, smiling with satisfaction.
Jack sat back to watch, smiling with satisfaction.

"This will be a good show."
((Sorry 'bout disappearing... I thought maybe Dada had forgotten to shut the internet off, but apparently not. *sigh*))
Sean sank to his knees, tears welling in his eyes, as he watched helplessly. ((Wait for it... he's not giving up just yet...))
Jack grinned and nodded. "The boy is weak. He'll break soon."

Gwen waited with baited breath. "So it seems."
Shadow forced the glass to implode, but made sure Fiona was not harmed. She levitated one of the larger shards and had it held to the man's back. He laughed, sliding her sideways on the wall, her mind blocking with the pain and dropping the glass. It shattered into a million peices.
((XD Yeah.))
Sean looked from Shadow to Fiona, then made a decision. He suddenly stood, grabbing one of the shards of glass, and ran at the man so fast that no one would have seen it coming. He knocked the man over and sat on his chest, trapping his arms beneath him and holding the glass to his throat.
((Hope that wasn't too fast...))
Jack cursed. "Send more men down there!" he said into a speaker.

Shadow was released with the fall of the man and she landed on her toes, lithe as ever.
The man tried to throw Sean off but by the Shadow had outwardly blocked the man from being able to do anything with a 'mind' power.
((Hm... what to do now? XD))
Sean pressed the glass a bit harder, drawing blood, but hesitated, not sure if he could kill the man.
Jack watched the screen, and declared, "He won't do it. He's too weak." Inwardly he wasn't so sure, though.

"Don't Sean.. we'll only get in more trouble," Shadow said huskily, tears marring her words though they did not fall.
"did you get men sent down there?" Gwen asked.
Sean nodded. He could hear footsteps now. "If you hurt her again, I swear I will kill you. Her or my sister." He got off of the man and ran to pick up Fiona. He cradled her in his arms and waited for the others to come.
Jack nodded. "Just wait..."
Jack nodded. "Just wait..."

Shadow sighed.
Gwen nodded.
((we can both be some?))
((Sure.))
Sean looked down at his sister, and tears trickled down his cheeks. "Fiona..." he whispered, stroking hair away from her face. He looked up again, at the people who had come for them. He looked at Shadow, at the blood staining the back of her shirt.
"Here we go again," he sighed.

Two men seized Sean by the shoulders and another two took Fiona gently but firmly.
Gwen grinned in sadistic releif.
Sean smiled just a little back at her, sadly, and didn't struggle against the men. He tried not to let them take his sister, but there was nothing he could do. He let the men pull him away from her.
Jack smiled and chuckled.
((I dunno what their punishment will be!))
Jack smiled and chuckled.

The men brought Fiona to the infirmary where a Medik was waiting.
Sean was taken to a blank white room with cameras and motion sensors.
Shadow knew that she needed medical attention, and she also knew they wouldn't let her anywhere near the infirmary. No one had grabbed her yet and she wondered why.
Gwen waited.
((XD Yeah... eventually. Hm...))
Fiona moaned and stirred, and the first words she uttered were, "Need to see my parents..."
Sean watched the door close and sank to the floor. Waiting again... He groaned.
The men didn't let Shadow out of the room, and one told her to wait there and not do anything stupid; someone was coming to see her.

Guards stood outside Sean's door.
Salem shattered a shard of glass and then sat abruptly by the wall, leaning into it from the side and resting her cheek agaisnt the cold surface.
Fiona sat up, and said, "Where is he? The boy... he knew my name..."
Sean closed his eyes. Shadow? Are you all right? What're they doing with you?
A man pushed through the men and entered the room that Salem was in. He was tall and a bit overweight, and his short brown hair was graying at the roots. He went over to Salem and offered a hand to her.
"Young lady - Salem, right? - I need to talk to you in private. Come with me."

Shadow barely heard him through the pain clouding her mind. I-I don't know. She refused the man's hand and stood on her own, wavering a bit when she went too fast.
Fiona shook her head. "No! He... I remember him."
Sean sighed.
The man caught her and held her arm. "Oh, my! Let me help you; I'll get someone to take care of your back." Trust me, he said in her thoughts. I want to help... just trust me.

"I need to see my parents. Where are they? He said if I did as he said I could see them!" Fiona was scared, and her voice rose.
I'll tell you when we're in private. I can't now; it's not safe. He smiled softly at her and let go of her arm, ready to catch her if she fell.

Salem sighed angrily and followed him.
She slid off of the bed. "No! I don't; I need to see my family."
The man led her to a small room that was lined with full bookshelves. There were two overstuffed chairs and a stool in the room. He motioned for her to sit. "A Medik will be here in a minute," he said, "Go ahead and get comfortable."

Salem sat on the stool. "I don't want to get comfortable."
Fiona sat down again with a sigh. "What happened to me?"
The man sighed and nodded. "All right." In her mind, he said, I'm Sean's father, Salem.

You are? What are you doing here? Salem looked at him solemnly, but she was incredulous.
Fiona's eyes brightened with curiosity. "Who is she?"
I have to look out for my daughter. They took her and they're using her for their own purposes... and the best I can do for her is to be here. They never hurt her, at least. I try to look out for my son, too, but... they'll take Fiona away completely if I do so. A Medik entered the room and the man pointed to Salem. "Heal her... he went much too far."

Salem heard everything he 'said' but that didn't change her mind on the Medik. "I don't need help." she insisted.
Fiona nodded. "She was in my dream, too. With the boy. She looks nice. I hope she's okay."
The man looked at her sternly. "Yes, you do." Please... It's the least I can do.
