Roleplay with characters from your story

"I won't tell anyone about your hiding place." he grinned a little at the end but the effect wasn't lessened nor was the promise in his tone.

"Wow." he breathed "I can't believe this place has these texts..."

"These aren't even supposed to exist." he smiled and sat down in front of the shelf. He patted the spot next to him,
"Let me show you this."
((Awww!! he's a book nerd!))

Salem dropped down beside him and snuggled close to his side, wondering if she would ever get used to this kind of thing.
Probably not.

Josiah pointed at the text, which looked like a jumble of lines and runes.
"It's said that this is the true history of Angels and Demons. It gets into all facets of Hell and Heaven. Any and everything you could ever want to know about it. The first Shadows are mentioned breifly. But you have Lyr texts that tell you what happened to their people."

Salem nodded, leaning closer. "How can you read that?"

Josiah grinned
"I was taught at a really young age. I know lots of long dead and ancient languages. So they're all just in my head now." He tapped the page "I'm probably one of 5 people still alive that can read this."

"That's amazing. I'd just take the easy way out and run my hands over the pages. Oh the wonders of being me," she joked quietly.

Josiah laughed
"That takes all the fun out of it." he took her hands and put it on the pages
"Try it, your shortcut."

Salem looked over at him. "I'm getting everything, it's just hard to decipher what it all is about. Guess shortcuts aren't always the best way to do things..." she poked his cheek. "Maybe we should buy it. You can read it to me before bed every night," she chuckled.

Josiah smiled and looked at her
"I'd love that. I really would." he stood and held his empty hand out to her.

She could swear she was either blushing or glowing. Either way, she was a little embarrassed. Salem put her hand in his and let him help her get up. "Let's get it. I know the owner, she won't mind."

"Alright. Who do I pay? Or where do I pay?" Josiah asked looking around, they seemed to be the only two in the whole place.

"Come 'ere. It's a really confusing place," Salem took off down an aisle and made a lot of turns before coming to a stop in front of a tall bar-like table. "Helena..."
The woman turned around and gaped. "Salem? Is that you, baby girl?"
Salem smiled lightly. "Yes ma'am, it sure is."
"Give me a hug, missy, it's been far too long!"
The two hugged and then they got down to business. "You buyin' anything, hun?"
"Sure am, Helena, if it's alright. We'd like to purchase this book."
Helena tittered and then took the book in her hands. "Salem dear, you can take it. I'm sure no one else ever will. Think of it as a gift." The older woman smiled, her blue eyes crinkling at the edges when she handed the book back.

"Salem's boyfriend." he said nodding, thinking that it was sort of the truth.

"Salem finally has a man. Amen!" Helena threw her hands to the Heavens. "Now off you go, little ducklings, go and have a good night together."
One thing she loved about Helena was her way of speaking the truth and being open.
That was also the only thing she didn't like about the woman.

She smirked and grabbed Josiah's shirt, pulling him behind her and back out into the streets.

"I've got to keep it intersting." he said. Then they were in the middle of the Irish countryside standing on front of a little stone house with weather worn fecne and stone pathway that snaked up to the door.
"You have your hiding place and I have mine." he explained walking up the path.

"It's from the 1600's. Well most of it is anyway." Josiah nodded

Josiah moved straight to the fireplace tossing some logs in and lighting them quickly. He set his new book down on a table that was next to an armchair. he smiled at Salem,
"I love it here."

"Yeah. I'm glad you think so." he said going back to her side and taking her hand.
"You want something to eat?" he asked looking at the kitchen

"So mi'lady what do you want to eat? I have everything you could ever think of wanting."

Josiah looked around, knowing the store type once he stepped in.
