"So I get to sit around in this apartment all day, and then I get to go to bed? Sounds like I would've had more fun staying at home," Abby said, even though she knew Ben would know that was a complete and utter lie.
"Fine," Abby sighed deeply. "Good night," she gave Ben a quick hug. She dug through her bag until she found her book, A Posse of Princesses and climbed into bed to read.
Abby sighed as the words started blurring on the page. She was more tired than she wanted to admit, but she didn't want to fall asleep. She didn't want to dream.

Abby finally turned out the light and snuggled down under her covers. A familiar melody wafted through the crack under the door. Dust In the Wind. It was just like the old times when she'd fall asleep listening to Ben playing guitar. She let it pull her into sleep, and for the first time in months she slept with a smile on her face.

Ben kept playing until his thoughts were calm enough to let him sleep. He fell asleep thinking about green eyes...
((Where is Shannon anyways?))
But sweet dreams never lasted forever and soon Abby's dreams turned to thoughts of home.
((Which will be described in detail as soon as I get back.))

Abby was standing with their back to a tree, her arms wrapped around the back and tied so tight with a jump rope her hands were losing circulation. There was mud on her white t-shirt and her purple jacket was keeping her legs connected to the tree. There was also mud smeared on her face and cockle burrs tangled in her hair. There were scratches on her bare arms that were covered in goose bumps. Her eyes were closed and she was shivering and whimpering. Josh came up to her and started laughing. "You're so pretty Abby. You know I'll always love you. You're the only one for me." He stepped closer and stroked her cheek with his hand, sending involuntary shivers through her body and a blush across her cheeks. "Beautiful," he snickered and walked away. Abby cried and cried for someone to help her, but nobody did. Nobody did.

Abby's dream shifted and she saw Ben. She saw him running away from her. "Ben! Come back! Please!" But he kept running. "I need your help!" He turned back and looked at her for a few seconds. Her heart stopped when he waved, turned around and kept running. "He doesn't love you," Jay suddenly appeared, sneering at Abby. "Nobody will ever love you." And then his fist connected with her face, causing her screams to grow silent.
"Did I have a bad dream?" Abby asked Ben, brushing hair that had fallen from her ponytail with a yawn.
"I can't remember," Abby said, confused. She never remembered her dreams once she had woken up. "I don't usually have bad dreams."
"Life's happened," Abby said blinking quickly. Josh happened."I wake up, go to school, come home, go to sleep, wake up."
"What time is it anyways?" Abby started to shiver and picked her blanket up off the floor and snuggled into it.

"Alright," Abby said. "Now, I can tell you're tired so go back to bed." And I can get back to my book.
"Well do whatever you big people do when you can't sleep so I can sleep," Abby said, trying to sound tired. Aka read my book.

"If you like cheesy, cliche books about Princesses and Princes then yes," Abby said sheepishly. "In other words, I love it, you wouldn't."
