Gibbs was at Emmy's side, occasionally licking her hand, trying his best to make her feel better.

He hesitated before shrugging and kissing her forehead. It's no big deal. You've been... worried. I understand. Everyone here understands. It's okay. Then he smiled softly at her. "I missed you, too."

Salem tried not to cry- this wasn't bad!- and she succeeded, burrowing her nose into his shirt so she couldn't see anyone anymore. He smelled better than a guy should...or maybe that was just her idea.

"El-lis..no it's not. Nothing is okay," Salem leaned against the banister, closing her stormy eyes.
"I'm sorry. Just... calling it as I see it." He looked down and sighed. "I never get things right, though."
